The Clothes Make the Man

FUBARshirt (7k image)

A few of the F.U.B.A.R.bs visit my website: Bubba, Pangwinking, cf, JustSumDude, Discommode, and even Justin to name a few.

Recently, I started a shop in order to make some extra money. (I’m really poor and I need to pay some debts and fix my piece of shit car.) Ever since I started the shop, I’ve had people asking me if I’d do F.U.B.A.R. shirts for Justin. Naturally, I can’t really do that in good conscience because I’d be making money off of Justin’s site. He should be selling his shirts himself.

I myself have thought about the fact that Justin is hard-up for cash, and so he’s started asking us for donations in order to keep F.U.B.A.R. running. Hardly anyone so far has been willing to donate. If Justin started a store, he could get enough money.

I’ve approached him with the idea, but he still hasn’t said anything.

The Front:

The Back:

I’ve taken the liberty of designing the shirts myself. (Edit: Designs have been updated – Justin) The idea for the design is Bubba’s, so pat him on the back verbally please. I figured if I showed the fans of this site how cool F.U.B.A.R. merchandise could be, and they started bugging Justin with positive feedback, he might get his ass moving.

So, would you buy this shirt (even if you don’t like it) to help Justin out?

  8. Would there be legal implications if you started printing off Bynes’ images on t-shirts?

But yeah, I’d buy the shirt, why not? 😛

lol.. no, not that either… pictures of people on shirts are just not too cool in my opinion… especially when its a picture of a highschool age girl being worn by a guy who is much much older than her. ;-P

  18. bah! You should just put a picture of the whole banner from the top of the page. That would be a better description of the site than just having Bynes on it….good idea though….

  19. actually bligityblah came up with that idea a coupla months ago. show them bligs!

  22. I’d buy one. Though I’d prefer Duff, Lohan, or the Olsen’s over Bynes.

  23. using copyrighted images of celbrities would make the shirt illegal… i know this for a fact. so, you’d have to find a picture that has no copyright (a picture a fan took or something) and then do something with that. you can either do it perfectly legal or completely ilegally… for some reason, i don’t think you’d give two shits if you did it illegally, but i figured i’d just add my two cents for once.

  24. okay so i actually DO have a cafepress shop (i’ve had one since 2002 actually. i just never bothered to do anything with it) and i’ve finally started fooling around with a bunch of ‘designs’. at this point, i’m just fucking around and amusing myself with what i can come up with. nothing concrete and nothing that i would actually put out officially. and yep, i was just about to say, the only problem is that cafepress doesn’t exactly condone using celebrity images or copyrighted pics. so yeah. that’s pretty much the only problem. unless of course i make stuff that only has text on it. or original logos or whatever.

    #24 | Comment by Justin — April 26, 2004 @ 2:15 am

  25. Like this?

    #25 | Comment by bligityblah — April 26, 2004 @ 2:20 am

  26. from what I’ve heard, cafepress shirts are shitty, the screens wear off within a few washes. it’d be cheaper, and higher quality,if you were to get them made at a local silk screener’s shop, and then set up your own online store. you’d also have a higher profit margin. I once thought of doing a t-shirt company with a buddy of mine, and we figured out that we would make 150% profit on each shirt if we sold them for $12. although we weren’t thinking of going online with it back then, and I know that it would cut into the profit margin, but would still be more worthwhile than cafepress. and you could take pre-orders to get the start-up cash.

Just an idea, even though it’s a hell of a lot more complicated than just going with cafepress.

  29. yeah, i’ve heard about at least one horror story and i’m skeptical myself about the quality of the finished product. i wouldnt wanna be putting anything less than decent out there. http://www.zazzle.com offers the same type of service but again, not quite sure about the quality.

    #29 | Comment by Justin — April 26, 2004 @ 2:35 am

  30. Why does it need an image? Most decent images will be copyright, and who has the time to fuck around taking their own pics? If you’re going to create FUBAR shirts, use FUBAR lingo. "Nerds Away" leaps to mind immediately, or "There Are Currently 112 Paedophiles Visiting This Site". These could be done in large type with the web address small underneath.

  32. hell ya i would buy a shirt…it doesnt need the pics…they would be better without pics…maybe just a cool design or something to go with a phrase…definately would buy a "nerds away" shirt

  33. yeah, one of the designs i was throwing around is actually text only. i personally find it pretty amusing.

    http://cafepress.com/tjnr

anyhow, that’s what i’ve got so far. not much.

oh and i wouldn’t buy anything from the store right now. again, i’m currently just fucking around with ideas. consider those prototypes.

  34. Just so you know the Cafe press shirt I got from the realultimatepower.net store well over a year and a half ago hasn’t warn down at all. Atleast not noticebly. I like to go through all my clothes before I wash them so that shirt gets washed every week or so.

    16 with a note
15 if her dad’s in the room

Put that on a shirt and i’ll buy it.

  43. I’d buy the all text one, and agree that "Nerds Away" should be on there somewhere.
I’d be okay with the picture one, but I’m not really a fan of the Bynes. Show me some Lohan, and you’ve got a sale.
