i just updated my psp firmware to 2.0 (FUCK ‘HOMEBREW’) and i’m posting this from my psp internet browser.
now my psp is no longer as useless as jessica chobot.
oh and no props to sony of japan for being slow as fuck and only putting the firmware online 16 hours into the day. this thing should have been up at midnight. fuck you very much sony.
this fucking thing needs a proper keyboard thing though. this update took me 20 minutes to type out.
did it take you 20 minutes to get up to the point where you said 20 minutes or 20 minutes for the entire thing? If its the latter than my calculations suggest that the entire post took 25 minutes and 51.3 seconds to input.

the browser display is surprising sharp. thought it takes a while for sites that have lots of images to load up. and occasionally, if the site has TOO many images, it’ll just say “there is not enough memory”.
oh and looking at hi res images is also out of the question. “there is not enough memory”.
the site will still load up though. you’ll just have a couple of broken images here and there. no big deal really.
oh and hey! tabbed browsing. and it saves all your logins and passwords. plus bookmarks. and you can save files and stuff (jpgs etc) to your memory stick.

Hey, longtime lurker, first time poster. I was stupid enough to buy IGN Insider because I wanted some of their game guides — which are USELESS, by the way — but I read Chobot’s latest article. She is a dumbass. There was better writing in my high school paper. Her column goes on and on and on and she breaks just about every grammar rule imaginable. What’s REALLY annoying is that she consistently addresses the reader in a patronizing tone. People over 35 shouldn’t write about videogames unless they’ve been there through all the changes from 2600 on up. She obviously bought the Sims for PS2 and thought it was the greatest thing ever.

who do you think i am? jessica chobot? i’m no noob. i know everything. 1.0 and 1.5 allows you to play ‘homebrew’ or ‘backups’ which, really, is just another way of saying pirated games (most of which dont even run that well, what a shitty job at emulating the psp does). those faggots that are trying to emulate the DS on the PSP? idiots. is that what people on web forums mean when they write things like “NINTENDON’T IS TEH PWNED”?
says the maker: “it is currently running at about 4 fps and no sound it only runs a few demos and metroid intro and there is currently no controls” awesome! that’s why i don’t bother with shitty emulators.

Can you honestly say that the 2.0 is better than a 1.0 or 1.5,
you cant use the excuse that if you wanna play the most new games and shit on it, cause there isnt any games that dont run without the new firmware. and we will bypass the 1.51 and above firmware checks, its a given.

oh yeah i’ve actually been on tv a couple of times before. was in a commercial that never aired. had a bit part in some tv show playing a businessman guy. also played a date rapist type person on another show and appeared as a junkie two different times in two different unrelated episodes on the same show (they all had standalone storylines). this was all in 2003.
i hate being on camera. never again. i only did it because i was on the production crew and the network we were shooting for needed more actors so they used me. at least i got paid. and i got to have teh offscreen implied tv sex with that chick i supposedly took advantage of.

#26 i was talking about emus. loaders are a different story. as a multimedia device, it’s fairly decent. but as handheld gaming system, it’s no GB/GBA/DS.
i’ve spent more time fooling around with things that the psp isnt supposed to do more than i’ve actually played it the way it’s supposed to.
and of course i’ll buy the revolution! you wont get any extraneous bullshit with nintendo. none of that mp3dvdhddsupercomputerps3hd price increasing crap. you want an inexpensive pure games machine you buy a nintendo.
and then you buy a ps3 and an xbox360 too so you can shit on all them equally and not come off as a stupid fanboy.

you can download the update from the japanese site manually and then transfer it to the psp via usb cable. thats how i did it.

i dont think you can use the network update on US PSPs to update your firmware… yet. the japanese firmware works on US machines though.
