I thought the first episode of Dollhouse was pretty cool. But then again, I’d watch an hour of people painting houses if Joss Whedon wrote the dialogue.

I love Joss Whedon and also Dushku, My collection boxes of Buffy and Angel are prominently displayed on the top shelf above my TV, but Dollhouse just seemed mweh. I didn’t buy it and the whole negotiator story arc was not very interesting. Moreover, how is Joss gonna put character development into the main characters if they keep getting their brain erased.
I will give it a few more episodes cus it’s from Whedon and stars some pretty interesting people, but I’m far from convinced this is a must-watch show.

#23/25 – unless i’m mistaken, a key part of the show is that Echo starts to remember more and more each time she is programmed and then wiped, and begins to question what exactly is going on at the Dollhouse. also, they’ve already shown us a peek of an active who apparently escaped named Alpha. i don’t know where all this is headed, but if Whedon wrote it, you can bet there is a plan, and it’s probably going to be intriguing and engaging.
whedon = the entire plot of every show/movie is a pretext for yet another regurgitation of this script where, in an ironic twist of fate, a diminutive girl discovers that she has supernatural abilities and is now able to violently overpower people who would otherwise be stronger than her

there have been plenty of female superheroes. wonder woman, she hulk, supergirl, sarah connor, barbara bush, joan of arc, the statue of liberty, aunt jemima.
Well, as I said, I will give the show a fair chance. But I’m not yet convinced. Maybe when it grows on me.

#15 I dunno. True Lies, she was just about mid-puberty, which made her mad hot to me(seeing as I’m about 30 days older than her). Plus she had that whole “I’m damaged and need you to fix me!” Psycho Girl vibe going on(yes, even 10 years before Psycho Girl became a “penishold” name, I knew what I liked).

I tried to watch an episode of dollhouse. I felt like I’d been watching for hours and turned it off, painfully bored, right around the point where eliza was in the forest with some guy and he sent her running for her life. I figured it was probably half over, but it had only been a few minutes. worst show ever, and a blatant ripoff of la femme nikita, except they’re doing it painfully wrong.
You can tell a lot about a show from 3 episodes.
There’s nothing worse than fanboys who deem as irrelevant any opinion from someone who hasn’t watched as much of some show as they have. Eg: ‘You can’t comment on this show because you haven’t watched all 90 episodes!’. Lol, I can just imagine the creators contacting TV reviewers beforehand to say ‘Remember, don’t review our show until the end of the season!’.
Yes, it’s very difficult (though not impossible) to tell where the storyline will end up after only watching 3 episodes, but any intelligent person will have formed an accurate enough picture of the style of the show, its main themes and in what direction it will develop. There are only so many genres of TV and most of them have been done countless times before.
Well, on the plus side, I managed to find a copy of this issue on my way to work today. On the minus side, I found another copy selling for a dollar less and closer to my work place. Oh well. Me getting Eliza is still me getting Eliza. Trying to decide whether she looks better here, or in the FHM(?) shoot a couple years back. She was younger back then, but it was all leather/pvc type pants.
