I have bad news for fans of the more plump, more jolly version of Renee. I worked about a month and a half on "Cinderella Man" with her and she's lost those twenty extra pounds and then some. She was a fuckin' twig (which makes sense considering the film takes place during the Great Depression but whatever...). Starving Ethiopian kids were offering her their food. It isn't as bad as Christian Bale in "The Machinist" but it was damn near close.
She's a nice and friendly person but I was seriously turned off. Renee Zellweger from "Empire Records" and "Jerry Maguire", please come back! We all miss you!

Sorry but you are wrong. Renee was in Empire record. Joey Lauren Adams was in Mallrats and Chasing Amy. You are getting your movie mixed up.RobertBruce wrote:She wasnt in that movie. That was joey lauren adams.TheCitizen wrote: from "Empire Records"

Its a common mistake. They do look, and talk, and act the exact same.
Renee looks much better with the extra weight if you ask me, and I applaud whenever hollywood presents a realistic-looking woman, especially in a sexy role like "bridget jones" And you've gotta admit, those things she does with her eyes are incredibly endearing.
What really pisses me off is the recent spin on Drew Barrymore... Drew, who once was the exeption to the anorexic hollywood rule, lost a shitload of weight, and fucking "People" magazine, the same fucks who a year earlier were praising her for carrying the extra weight, put her on the cover to celebrate her "heroic" recovery from sanity. AAARRGGGHH!!
