This movie looks fucking badass. It's in French though. And so is the website. But you should be able to navigate it pretty easily. Check out the trailers. Hot.

Yar, that movie looks SWEET. Every now and then those Frenchies make a good movie.. 90% of the time it's by Luc Besson.

First post! Karate IMPLOSION.

"Le film" means "The movie", "Jeux" means "Games".

About the film, it takes place in 2013 in Paris' suburbs ("banlieu" in French). It's the story of a SWAT cop going undercover to deactivate a bomb stolen by gangsters.

Contrary to America's big cities, in Paris, ghettos and street gangs are most present in the suburbs.

And by the way, France does put out solid films just about every year. Wheter or not those films get fair coverage in America is a whole different thing.

Yeah france makes a lot of good movies, mostly french comedies, and these action films with gangs from the suburbs in Paris or Marseille. Living in Switzerland I can watch most of them since we get them in the cinemas at the same time...

Don't get me started on how crap the new Taxi movie with Jimmy Fallon and FatCrackHo will be compared to the original french trilogy!

Taxi and Taxi 2 were great... Taxi 3 is just too.... Taxi :)

Banlieu 13 looks promising - the parkour and the pimped out rides always help :)

I dunno I wasn't a huge fan of Taxi 2, the whole armoured car thing with the speech recognition was full of silly jokes, and a lot of the jokes in the rest of the movie were kinda childish, taxi 3 in my opinion was better then number 2... the first is still the best though...

I heard David Belle(who is associated with the movie) is not trying to assoicate Parkour to this in any way except for some stunt aspects.

I hope you're right... it does make for some nice stunts though :)

Kinda makes the obvious digital stuntmen in Blade II look kinda superfluous :)

i will agree, there is quite a bit of good french cinema out there, those, mostly romantic comedies, or dramatic comedies, there are a few good french action movies out there.

but as far as france goes,, as an american, i wouldnt suggest it as a tourist option.. i went there back in the summer of 97 before the whole fallout after 911 happened. and even back then everywhere i went that i spoke american i can say most of the people were nice, but at more than a few of the cafes and restraunts i got some pretty slow and crappy service as compared to alot of other people there. after awilei just started speaking german and i got better receptions at the places i went, though, going to the cinema was different, i have to say, i did like being able to drink a beer while watching a movie...

so in short.... as an american, if you want to go to europe, skip france, its nothing special,, go to sweden or the netherlands, or norway, or skip europe all together and just go to the medetarianian you will be better off....
