Congrats, Bob. And this may be a scary thought, but what if you could find a copy of if off the internet, like out in the real world. I know lots of people who find all sorts of shit from guys in the know. Shhhhhh, they're watching!

Wow, you're right. And I thought I lived in the middle of nowhere.

You could always drive over 40 miles to get it at midnight on the 8th.

justin is playing "now you see, now you don't".

neway, i haven't gotten a chance at halo 2 yet. i have played halo: combat evolved on xbox but found it very slow and irritating when i tried to turn the character around in the game.

i ended up dead a couple of times coz it was very slow for me to turn around and look behind my back.

does anyone has any tip to overcome this matter? coz i dun think the pc version (EDIT - of halo 2) is coming out anytime soon.

playing the pc version (EDIT - of combat evolved) with the mouse and keyboard is much much better but it was kinda lacking in the graphics department, probably due to my low pc specs at that time.

Do people actually get scared when threats come from companies about pirated software?

Microsoft is going to go after people for downloading a french version of Halo2 that will only work on modded xboxs.

They aren't going after people who download Windows, Office, or any other program that is usable by anyone with a computer.. Ok.

The only people they might go after are the people distributing it, not the people getting it.

I got my Halo2 off Suprnova and have been playing it off and on for the past couple days. I still have it pre-ordered and will buy it for Xbox live.

yeah, you cant even go online with the bootleg i dont think. which is probably the number one reason why people are going to buy it. to play on live.

speaking of which, i'm probably not gonna buy GTA:SA, GT4 and MGS3 for PS2 over here (besides, none of them will be online and pretty much the only reason why i'd buy an original game is only so that i can get online because you cant with bootlegs)

i'll just get my mom to buy the fakes from back home and send em over here by mail. why pay over $150 bucks when you can get em all for less than $8!

a winnar is me!!!!!

(btw, i dont download movies or games. never have. what i usually do is buy the bootlegs on dvd, usually when i'm back in brunei. most long time readers know this but newbies probably wont)

some examples of pirated crap i've bought and posted about in the past (mostly movie stuff):

I'd do that also but I don't know where to buy bootlegged DVD's at. I guess the Flea Market but I haven't been there in about 10 years.

I'd buy them bootlegged over downloading or renting because of the time it takes to burn/re-encode a DVD or to download.

bah, paying for something somebody else pirated is wrong. If you're gonna pay for it, it may as well go to the people who created it, making the rich richer and all that.

...That's why I do all my dirty work myself, and besides, it's free! :)

Well I feel worse about pirating games then I do about more expensive software. You can change the settings in Halo to make your movement faster. Hmm Im going to have to guess it would be in the setting. I think under edit profile and messing with the controller stuff.

Haven't really noticed - or really tried to look - any of those places around here in Cali, doubt there would be any but maybe. I'd pay a few bucks instead of spending the hours to do it myself.

Its true they are looking for everyone. I imagine they try and find anyone who mentions H a l o 2 recently, and they scan his site looking for information to see if he mentions he has the illegal copy. I went to my forum today and saw a guest. I was trying to figure out who he was. I ran a IP search on him. Here is what turned up.

It appears they are making good on their threats. I only mentioned getting it a little early from best buy.
