First of all, thanks April for starting this!

I've had stretchmarks on my hips since I was about 13/14, because at that age my hips grew a lot wider pretty fast. The marks started off pink and have faded to a strange kind of peachy-silvery colour, but they're still there. I'm used to them and don't particularly care and if any man did care about them he could fuck off. It's not something you can help, especially at that age when you're not expecting to get them and by the time they are there, it's too late to stop them!

Yes, you can get them from putting on weight but I think growth during puberty is a far more common cause so you should not just assume they are caused by getting "fat".

Girls' bodies change so easily often without us even noticing (bloody hormones), so don't criticise us for what we can't help.

Its not only rapid growth, but also subsequent retraction, both in size and and from elasticity. My wife has stretch marks on her hips from quick growth in puberty, but they're not always that visible. Depending on her weight (she's normal weight) day to day, even a couple of pounds makes a difference. Could even be time of the month related. With a couple of extra pounds, the skin is more taught and the stretch marks are less visible. She also has them on the tops of her tits, ala Scarlett, but in my wife's case they come from exploding in size during pregnancy. She went from A to C/D and then back to A. What once were perky and firm are now a little flabby. But, like the picture of Scarlett, the effect depends on weight and how the tits are supported.

Scarlett's probably not as heavy or buxom as she once was and therefore is likely to present her stretchies once and a while. The perfect other example of this is Katie Holmes. She looks at least 10 pounds lighter than her prime late-teen youthful peak, and with the deflation of the boobs comes the price. This seems to be common amongst the more full-figured women who, as they mature through puberty, pack a few extra pounds of "baby fat." As is the case with alot of the so-called stars, they become obessesed with weight and image. They go anorexic and end up freakishly skinny with none of the normal fat they used to, or are supposed to, have.

Just use vitamin e oil. It'll get rid of them stretch marks quite easily. And it does work on girls and guys.

That Scarlett Johansson person is gorgeous... I got no problem with stretch marks. I would have never noticed if it weren't for pointing it out, but even still - she's gorgeous.
