Why are pants tightening everywhere about a mp3 player that only plays songs on shuffle? Well who knows. Same question about a computer that is about as big as 3 DVD cases stacked on top of each other, that one I can see. The short answer is because they are sexy. Mac stuff is always stylish and good looking. I'm not going to get into the Mac vs. PC debate, here but think about it. If you come to this site you like sexy things. The pictures Justin posts on this site are not of hard working, reliable, intelligent women...actually after seeing some of the vids I've seen on here I'd think the exact opposite... they are of smokin hot babes. Never in any post have I seen the phrase "WOW! What a rack! I wonder if she's smart?" Who cares really? The new Mac stuff, and all Mac stuff for that matter is fucking beautiful. Viva la vanity!

the people who object have a problem with shortsightedness...

What do you get from Dell for 499? certainly no better than the Mac Mini. And yes it is stylish...but thats a good thing. And a G4 is far superior to some celeron crap not to mention alot of the P4 bull. Its a great chip and allows a lower price point.. Not to mention the true value that is Mac OS X that is light years ahead of Windows. It is an AMAZING operating system and the next release, Tiger, will blow even this away. Not to mention iLife which comes FREE. Record 8 tracks at a time, edit and even get musical notation in realtime. Edit and organize photos. Edit movies in HD. Creat interactive DVDs. ALL included and more. People who complain are holding on to silly convention while Macs are CLEARLY far superior to anything else. And hey the 499 computer not good enough? Well its only 499! Its for a specific market. Jump up only to 1299 and you have a GREAT iMac with a beautiful 17" screen.

As for the shuffle... if you want an LCD buy a real frikin iPod. The shuffle is perfect for those who exercise (hell, it weighs less than an ounce) and at those times you wont want to be changing songs anyway. That or supreme portability. And hell its not too much more than a usb flash drive that ISNT an iPod. its a great entry product. And its holds so few songs that you can setup themes and playlists so it wont just shuffle random songs together. Obviously another targeted product. one that will take over the rest of the mp3 player world,

Apple is on a roll. Not only do they have the public actually paying attention and so many myths being laid to rest but also it comes at a time when our products are in their prime and superior in ALL ways.

and yes i would much rather have dual core G4's!

I'm buying two mini Macs. One mp3 server for the house, one spare render machine that I can stick on the bookshelf. Just because.

Shiney.

I almost bought one today. Then I remember I'm saving up for a new PowerBook and 20" display. *drools uncontrolably*

Jesus, it took them long enough to put shuffle on regular iPods. We don't need a product that is dedicated to shuffling just because they're too cheap to put an LCD on a flash based player.
yeah, right!, like if I'd prefer to buy <a href='http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp ... uct&cmp=++' target='_blank'>this</a> thing... <_<

I'd rather being without LCD but 1Gb than being 256Mb with LCD

I like my computers like my men, big and black, not small and white.
