This morning I was getting ready for work, when a tree in my neighbor's yard fell and took out the power lines. The tree also landed on a garage, so the power lines weren't completely cut. Normally the power goes out completely, not today. For some strange reason everything in the house went dead, except for the lights and ceiling fans operating at half strength. I ran around the house unplugging everything. When I got home later and the power was back on, I discovered my monitor was fucked. It was 21", very beautiful display at 1600 x 1200. I really shouldn't complain too much since it was free, now back to the old 15" one from 1999, I'm lucky I still have it for a back up. What really sucks is that the surge protector didn't do it's job. emo rant over

yeah power outages suck. Unless it's a summer night and you have nothing to do. Then it's oddly relaxing.

but a few months back the power went out, and my computer wouldn't turn on for 2 days after the power came back. It was really wierd.

What's worse than this is when people are doing roadworks near your house and twice in a month they accidently cut the phone lines for a day at a time or the 2nd time ripped out our phone line from the wall of our house from the road, so no internet, stupid road workers piss me off.

Future note. Pull the power cord out of the BACK of the computer not the wall and leave it out for 5 minutes. ATX power supplies (p2's and above) have power supplies with 'circuit breakers' in them. They will reset the breaker by having the cord not inside the power supply for over 1 minute.

I have had 3 power ottages onmy block in the last week. @ of which were on the same night. I blame the shitty ciy i live in or the appartment building next door with all the air conditioners for my woes.

But it is oddly relaxing. I ended up sitty on my porch in a lawn chair chatting with the enighbors and drinking beer after beer because of course if beer is no kept cold at all times it will go bad, and i don't want that to happen now do i?

I was at home in Toronto. The canadians blamed america, the americans blamed canada. I wen't to a buddies hous with all meat from the freezer and we BBQ'ed and for the first time in my entire life i was abl to see the stars while in the city. I doubt i will ever see the stars again as vividly while still in a major city.

Yawn!
You are so predictable.

Do you really think people still find that witty?

<span style='color:maroon'>I might hate it when the power goes out, but that usually coincides with a decrease in temperature welcome this time of year.

So actually, a one to three hour blackout is fine.

The flaw in your logic is that you think I post to amuse anyone other than myself.

I am drinking Aquafina right now. It's very… watery.
