dead pixel is the only thing i could think to explain it fuckface. i have small spots in the crt (well, had, since i now have a samsung 712n lcd "r0x0rz ur b0x0rz")and they don't go away. it might be little burn spots, but the best way to explain it, and the only short way (since i am lazy) is to use the common term 'dead pixels'. so sue me, i didn't say it right. i'm not big on hardware anyway, but i can outdo you and your mama with anything os/software related.hardcore_2031 wrote:Is anyone else scratching their head after this post? Dead pixels on a CRT? There are no set pixels on a CRT, it's just a cathode ray firing against the back of the screen. CRT = no native pixels, no native resolution. Your monitor may be fucked up but you do not have dead pixels. What a fucking dumbshit.jimthej00 wrote:i already have a supercomputer (trumps any alienware cuz i made it) but it would be cool to have that little mac hooked up to my bigscreen tv. i could mess around with osx and jaguar, itunes, iphoto, imovie, and look at hi res pr0n on my TV! and it's like the size of my dreamcast! too cool! id put a bunch of mp3s and porn on it, starting with my entire collection of hi res celebs, ending with my porn vid clips. oo i can't wait, but maybe i should spend that money on a new monitor, my 17 inch crt is getting dead pixels, and the contrast has gotten darker.
oh, and who the fuck are you to judge me, senor tres posts? get a job.
as for longhorn v. tiger, tiger is definitely the best mac os yet. i would love to play with safari instead of intercrap exploder or firefuck-me-i-can't-leech-off-irc, but by no means does a mac os even compete with a windows os. sure, they are both similar operating systems that are based on the same platform, but they are meant for different people and uses. i have had macs, pcs, and am currently on an xp pro system, with a dedicated linux run counter-strike server in the closet. i know my operating systems. windows is meant more for people who like versatility, gaming, and compatibility with just about any software or hardware out there. macs are for people with simple needs, or a heavy focus on media editing. as someone who fits both the media editing and gaming/versatility needs, i of course, own a pc. i haven't paid a dime for any of the games, music, movies, or programs running, except for half life 1. half life 2 came with my video card. i love pcs.
