I had the opportunity to watch House of Flying Daggers the other day. Someone told me it was like Hero. Well, after much deliberation, I have to say I still prefer Hero over HoFD. Don't get me wrong, it was a great story. The cinematics were excellent, and the acting was great, however, I prefer the way the story in Hero was told. The use of colors to set the mood of each retelling of the tale made it worth watching again and again.
Discuss.
edit: Excuse my horrible typing in the poll question.

HoFD was good, but Hero felt a lot more polished. I agree with mage, it was all in the way the story was told. The colors theme added a new layer of depth that was interesting.
Both movies were excellent, but Hero had that little extra to push it past HoFD.

I was dissapointed by both of them. I was expecting more, so my vote is neither.

What exactly did you find lacking in each of the movies?

I've only seen Hero and didn't care for it too much, it was ok.
