Very nice thread.
1. The Big Lebowski- Second greatest movie EVER. For reals (First is "The Silence of the Lambs", btw).
2. Jacobs Ladder- Great Adrian Lyne thriller, very underrated. If you liked "The Machinist", you'll love this.
3. Orange County- Jack Black rules. That is all.
4. The Shining- Never gets old, no matter how many times you've seen it.
5. Office Space- Classic comedy, so many great quotes.
6. Suicide Kings- Freaking awesome movie, even better because it has Christopher Walken.
7. Slums of Beverly Hills- Made me have a small crush on Natasha Lyonne. Too bad she has let herself go.
8. Pink Floyd's The Wall- One of the biggest mindtrip movies of all-time. A must see for any stoner.
9. Rollerball- The orignal, mind you. And 10,000,000x better than the remake.
10. Altered States- William Hurt's first movie and visually ahead of it's time.

I had to refresh twice when I saw Boondock Saints in someone's 10.
But don't take my word for it... <a href='http://ruthlessreviews.com/movies/b/boondocksaints.html' target='_blank'>this guy's</a> does a very good job of it.

Haven't seen many new films except "The Descent", which was far better than Marshall's previous horrow piece, "Dog Soldiers".
Some not so new films that I like but aren't necessarily great films (though some are):
1) Big Trouble in Little China
2) The Thing
3) In the Mouth of Madness
4) Miracle Mile
5) A Tale of Two Sisters
6) The Lost Boys
7) Brazil
Angel Heart
9) Perfect Blue
10) Boxing Helena
11) Candyman
12) Heavenly Creatures
13) Nightbreed
14) Lord of Illusions
15) Monster City
16) The Game
17) Society
18) Twelve Monkeys
19) Q&A
Only listing movies that most people haven't heard of but should give a watch. Some of my other faves (like "Lebowski" and "Jacob's Ladder") have already been mentioned.

OWW was a good film. A great study into the social nightmare of an impoverished Maori family living on the lower echelons of NZ society dealing with lower class issues like family violence, sexual assault and fractured family values between traditional and contemporary faultlines.
At a widest view it is the study of the Maori struggling to live in the confines of the Pakeha (White Man)'s world
At its narrowest it is the surgical satire of a disenfranchised Maori man who is slaved by the shackles of his tradition, weaknesses and chain of violence.
A deeply powerful film, flawed but arguably more effective by being so.
The sequel however...was terrible.

Yes.
Boondock Saints is so fucking damned shitty I can't even rip on it in person without choking on my own rage. Anyone who likes Troy the fat fuck who borrows money now to pay for his pain killer addiction Duffy and/or his travesty of a movie needs a brain enema.
...and where the fuck are all the smarty pants motherfuckers?
somebody say Oldboy or Ichi The Killer and then rip on everyone else for only liking Hollywood movies. I haven't seen the word indie in here once! Fuck you.
How about we all just try and boast about liking movies we think other people haven't seen so we can feel smarter for having seen them first?
1) Chinatown
2) 8 1/2
3) The Killing of a Chinese Bookie
4) Infernal Affairs
5) B13
6) La Dolce Vita
7) Yakuzas Law
Straw Dogs
9) A Woman Under the Influence
10) <a href='http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0374020/' target='_blank'>This one is in here just for the title.</a>
Oh ya, and who the fucks thinks Dark City is some underground piece of art. TBS plays it on the weekends sometimes. Asshat.
