I was always pretty sure it was pronounced Day-mon. But then again, I thought the girl's name was Lee-ra. If you haven't read His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman, I strongly recommend giving it a chance. It's written as a fantasy trilogy for children but I know plenty of adults who love it. And I t...

I don't see how they can tear out the religious themes from the movies. Hell, the story is about as anti-God and anti-religion as you can get. They trailer looks pretty damn good though, and daemon shape-shifting is perfect. I really hope New Line does this right! His Dark Materials are some of my f...

^^^ There's no fallout from a nuclear air burst. Fallout consists of particles picked up by a ground or near-ground blast and thrown into the atmosphere. Plus, we really don't know what form of blast Peter produces. If it were truly nuclear, there should've been massive EMP that would've blacked ou...

'Your guy' would be so much cooler if they hadn't shown him being an emo bitch with his mommy. But I totally agree that PP should probably go away. "All you need is love?" Seriously? Besides, the Super Friends would have a much more interesting time dealing with Sylar without him. I just h...

Wow, over $10k raised for peanuts!

You're right, CBS screwed up pretty bad. Didn't they put like a 4 month hiatus in the middle of the season? I think I read something about the networks fixing all of those hiatuses (hiati?) and off weeks for the next season. That should help.

Yeah, the new Splinter Cell is pretty good. Oblivion is just damn awesome, and they must have a platinum hits version out by now. Perfect Dark Zero was also fun, and it's only $20 so you can't go wrong.

I really enjoyed the Dead rising demo too. When it drops in price I'll pick it up for sure.

Norton is supposed to be rather picky with his roles, so it must have been a damn good script. I'm a little confused about them using the grey hulk, but perhaps they are trying to get as far away as possible from the Ang Lee disasater.

PS: The Joker scares me :(

Looks like they just cancelled it, and replaced it with a reality show about kids in a Lord of the Flies type scenario. :yuck: Yeah, I agree with you about the poor characterization. I always thought that it had a really good premise, but they could have done so much more with it. It's hard not to v...

It's pretty much the only recent Canadian horror series worth seeing. I say "series" because they made three. The second one was pretty good actually. It was about the little sister trying to stop herself from going nutty as a werewolf. Same sort of cool feminist themes as the original. Th...

Once, when I was 7 or so, my family stopped at a gas station on a road trip somewhere in the US. As I entered, a colourful gumball machine caught my eye! Alas, the price was 25 American cents, and all I had was a Canadian nickle. I began to turn away in despair, when some greater force coaxed me int...

Officially? No. Licensing fees and copyright get in the way. However some enterprising individuals over at Scorehero.com have managed to streamline a method for using your own music. You have to go through a pretty detailed process, but the instructions are laid out well, and it looks kind of fun. I...
