360 vs. Wii vs. P$3
Which console/consoles will you be spending massive of your holiday money on this year??
I personally will be buying the Wii on its launch date due to it's innovative new controller and it's much cheaper price tag... Maybe I'll get a P$3 when the price goes way down in a couple years... the blu-ray isn't worth it for me...

Wii60! But I will probably own all 3.
PS3 isn't that expensive when you think about it... I know someone who shelled out $400 for a 360... and had to also spend $100 for a wireless adapter, so $500 total.
Now compare that to the PS3 which has the wireless built in, plus the hard drive is 40GB BIGGER, 100% backwards compatible (unlike 360), plays Blu-Ray (stand-alone Blu-Ray players are going for $999), will display in true 1080p (360 doesn't even have HDMI output)... $600 isn't that much.
Do the math.

Nintendo's one looks really cool and innovative and you know there games will be fun... though probably very, very childish. PS2 and XBOX have no real fun to them like a Nintendo does... there just two big boxes with very good specs... but still there'll have all the best shoot em-ups and driving games..
Personally I probably won't buy any of them at first and will just wait till they go down in price, then snap one up on Ebay and buy some pre-owned games . I mean, all the last generation of consoles still have a lot of fun left in them, plus every game made for them will start to go down in price soon.

Screw all of them, I bought a ps2 the day it came out and in the time i've had it (I still have it) I have accumulated around 6 games. So screw that. If I was going to get a console, it'd be the ps3. Loyal to the grave. Although i had a nintendo snes and a nintendo 64 (my belief is nintendo's are focussed on the ~12year old age group). Maybe they will change it for the new gen, but yeh i'd rather a ps3.
I'll be maxing out on a laptop or tower, whichever takes my fancy in a spur of the moment decision.
Hopefully a Sony 1.8ghz duo centrino (portable one, so notihng more than 15''). Or if thats too expensive, i buy a new desktop for around $700. Thats an AMD 3500+ duo with all the other crap you don't need. And really, whats the differnce between an xbox and a highend pc (just buy 2 wireless logitech controllers). Both made by microsoft.
Whats this blue...ray? or whatever?

So far I've thought Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, FIFA World Cup, Call of Duty 2 and Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter have been worth the price of admission for the 360.
I really liked Tomb Raider too but it was pretty short - probably better off as just a rental.
Next game I'm excited for is the new Splinter Cell.

Blu-Ray really isn't a draw for me - I saw it set up next to HD-DVD at Best Buy, and just wasn't impressed. Like you said, players going for $999...I'm just not impressed with Blu-Raydex wrote:Wii60! But I will probably own all 3.

1080p isn't very common in tv's yet, plus the last stats I saw showed ~25% of households with HDTV's. Though lack of HDMI is lame...
Since I'm essentially a Nintendo and Halo fanboy, you can guess what combo I'm getting...
