Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

Post by gulliver » 27 Jan 2008 04:39

I'm star wars fan but I've never played any of the licenses that were actually worth playing on any of the consoles or PC. I heard lots of good thing about KOTR but its this newcomer that has me intrigued.

I think i'd buy this game just for the game physics alone and watch those stormtroopers fly.

The fact that not much is actually out there about this game so late in the game might indicate a stinker..

But damn I want a decent lightsaber game besides the "hold down the buttons and flail about and hope you hit something" gameplay of Jedi Knight and Jedi Academy..

This video convinced me to buy it. Also, GameTrailers claims a release date of April 8, 2008.

It really bothers me how he holds his lightsaber.

Even though I know it's a canonical style.

Its the homosexual way of holding a light sabre - I have a gay jedi friend who holds it like that - its a secret signal they use - like making out that the sabre is a phalic object that they hold on from behind.
If you look closely at the trailer he has his tshirt tied up in a knot in the front and holds his hand limp when he uses the force on everyone.
Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the Universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the Universe is winning.

Vanity Fair did a spread on this game. Apparently it's supposed to be pretty kickass. Lots of freedom with the character and a good storyline.

Summer 2008 is what it said as release. Which probably means it might be ready by xmas.

NARR!

I only have the Silver package, so I gotto wait a week before I can grab it.

p.s.
I love Euphoria, I hope it becomes the new standard, as plain old ragdolls are just lame in comparison.

You can always just make a new GT. It comes with a one month of gold free. When I only had silver I did that a couple of times to download demos. Maybe if Microsoft gets lots of "GTtoplaySWForceU XXXX" they'll quit doing that mandatory gold thing.
