Lyrics game!

Post by thefelinepunk » 19 Aug 2006 10:12

Okay, here's a fun little game I'd like us all to try. I think it'll be fun for those of us that are music buffs.

Just post song lyrics... make sure they're correct (to your knowledge), and DO NOT EVER POST THE CHORUS.

I'm not sure how to organize it... I guess just post lyrics for now, and if you guys know it, just maybe quote the post and say what song it is. If you get it, you post the next lyric.

If that doesn't work we'll try something else.

This site may be of some use to you guys... and don't worry, you can't search by lyrics. No cheating! :D

I'll get us started:

"Beside defying media too fast
Instead of pushing palaces to fall
Put that, put that, put that before all
That this isn't fortunate at all"

(Smash, you should get this.)

Alright, I'll post the next ones since you don't seem to wanna.

"I don't have to think
I only have to do it
The results are always perfect
And that's old news"

Sorry, I get distracted easily....

I remember Nirvana playing this unplugged but I don't think it's an original.... Partial credit?

Name these lyrics:

Times were hard in Sicily, we had no provolone
The Don he wasn't happy with the taste of my brother Tony
When Mother went to plead with him he said that he would see her
We found her rosary on the ground
Poor Mama Mia

name this one:

lashing out the action
returning the reaction,
weak are ripped and torn away

hypnotizing power
crushing all that cower

"With one or two I get used to the room
We go slow when we first make our moves
By five or six bring you out to the car
Number nine with my head on the bar

And it's sad, but true
Out of cash and I.O.U's

I've got desperate desires and unadmirable plans
My tongue will taste of gin and malicious intent
Bring you back to the bar
Get you out of the cold
A sober, straight face gets you out of your clothes
And they're scared that we know
All the crimes they'll commit
Who they'll kiss before they get home

(Chorus)

Barely conscious in the door where you stand
Your eyes are fighting sleep while your mouth makes its demands
You laugh at every word trying hard to be cute
I almost feel sorry for what I'm going to do
And your hair smells of smoke
Who will cast the first stone?
You can sin or spend the night all alone

Brass buttons on your coat hold the cold
In the shape of a heart that they cut out of stone
You're using all your looks that you've thrown from the start
If you let me have my way I swear I'll tear you apart
Cause it's all you can be
You're a drunk and you're scared
It's ladies night, all the girls drink for free

(Chorus x 3)"

this song may be slightly obscurish, so here are a few hints.

Hint 1: the title contains the name of a famous singer who died in the 1970's.
Hint 2: the title shares the name of a Pearl Jam album.
Hint 3: the band hasn't been together that long.

Mmm... I dunno.

But! There's no need to post the ENTIRE song. Just a snapshot.
