Ah... the douche who said GI Joe was "Star Trek levels of kick ass".
Well, lets all listen to what he has to say :D

Avatar might be good, but I doubt it is 10/10. There is no possible way that a 500 million dollar film can meet my expectations. I have never seen a movie in my entire life that I would turn around and say "Well, that was worth 500 million dollars".
Even if Avatar is the better than greatest movie I've ever seen (Fight Club), it will still be a 9/10, due to it's enormous budget and lengthy production time.

But the difference is I am loved and am not a socially stunted insecure hentai closet child sex offender.

Unlike some people who still want to get in the 'baby's underpantaloons. but are uber fail

How dare James Cameron take his own time to make what he wants his way. How dare he upset poor dex.

Don't watch the movie, loser. Go whack off to your 4000 twilight sequels.

Whoo hoo! Somebody was easily offended, it must be Mao ^_^ I'm gonna ignore your asinine personal comments since they make no sense to begin with, and I don't want to bring myself down to your level.

I saw Avatar and it was better than I expected (based on the trailer). The visuals were amazing, and almost overwhelming at times... but the story was very generic and predictable. Basically it's a sci fi remake of The Last Samurai and/or Dances With Wolves... with a buttload of CG. As with the Transformers movies, I'm not easily swayed by fancy visuals; thankfully, Avatar's story wasn't "bad", but it wasn't good either. B-

I really enjoyed it myself. Its way up there way above Star Trek! To me its worth 500m hopefully now the tech is there the squeal will cost a lot less and take less time to compile!! I hope that Cameron gets his money back from the tickets, game sales, figures etc.

Oh and my peepee got hard with Neytiri strutting around showing bewbies n all - is this normal?

Finally saw it, and while it was indeed beautiful to look at, I really don't see where half a billion dollars went.

Sorry, Jimbo...8/10.

Liked it.

Better than Star Trek.

Generic and predictable the story may be, but that's almost the case for every movie released these days. At least this one raised the bar a bit; if not as much as hyped, in the visuals department.

At least Cameron still knows how to direct action sequences with old school methods. There was rarely anything close to shakey cam and you could always make out what was going on.

Here's hoping he makes another film (not avatar 2/3) sooner, now that he's got his out of his system he might get back to some darker stuff like Aliens and Terminator.

Then I splooge.

Saw it tonight again, but this time in IMAX 3D. Holy cow. I'm retracting everything bad I ever said about the future of movies in 3D being dumb.

I think Avatar gets a +1 point boost for IMAX 3D in my rankings.

1. When Avatar came out, I wasn't looking forward to it, or expect it to be that great. So why would I pay $16.50 to see a movie that I was "meh" about?
2. I hate 3D, it always makes me sick, mostly due to wearing 3D glasses on top of my regular glasses. The new 3D glasses are awesome, so I didn't have any discomfort at all. Like I said, I've done a 180 on that opinion.
3. When I first saw it, I was with friends (let me know if you need to explain what those are) who not only didn't want to pay $16.50 each for IMAX 3D, but didn't want to wait for the limited showtimes of that theaters screening.
See, a normal movie plays at least every hour, but IMAX screenings are like... every 4-5 hours. Usually only 6 showtimes a day. If it was around 8:00pm, and Avatar was playing at 8:15/9:30/10:30 (normal) or 10:45 (IMAX), we're going to the earlier one and paying $10 less.

And
4. Last night I went with a friend who had never seen it, who insisted on IMAX 3D, and I was just along for the ride. I owed him a favor, and neither of us had anything else to do.

i saw it in 3D a few weekends ago...I'm with angelbaby I don't know where 500 million went. Special effects were cool...but hardly necessary as much as they were for the sake of just using the technology.

I felt the same too, but since the only thing people were raving about were the visuals and the tech, not going to see it in all it's glory seems bizarre.
