The last movie you saw

Post by gulliver » 01 Sep 2010 19:58

OK so the blockbusters and new big releases deserve a thread of their own. The purpose of this thread is for a cinema or dvd release that you may have been recommended, missed in the cinema or just wanted to watch for the hell of it. Maybe a mod could make it pinned?

I never got a chance to see Kickass in the cinema so I downloaded it :pirate: and watched it with my bro who was home from canuck land. I'd heard good things about it and wasn't disappointed. We had many hearty guffaws.

So, what was the last movie you saw?

"The Crazies"

I wasted 24 minutes of my life on this garbage. Granted i was floating on two bottles of wine at the time but god damnit this was fucking cuntish to say the least. 30 days of night sound effects and theme; check. Worn out story lines and opening sequence; check. Desperate actor in lead role who look uncomfortable in main role throughout: check.

Please fuck off and die into complete obscurity, if anyone found this movie even remotley entertaining you are a complete cretin and deserve to suck my knobcheese.

Fuck off.

Grown ups.

Total ass.

3/10.

It gets 3 because it has Selma Hayek in it.

Repo Man might have been the giantest pile of suck I've ever seen. Since getting BallBuster's movie in the mail service, I've had the displeasure of watching a lot of horrible, horrible movies... but Repo Man took it to an entirely new level of shit.

I'd give that movie the lowest possible score...and then take even more points off of that. Can I go negative?

Holy shit, I thought "The Box" was a pile of shit. Words fail to warn you all.

If you like the previous RE movies, you'll like this. If you like good movies, you'll hate this.
If the action scenes weren't all in super slow-mo, the total run-time would be about 15 minutes.

Proper low budget old school sci-fi flick.

I liked it, but I'm a sucker for sci-fi.

For some reason that poster reminded me of a film I saw many moons ago as a young whipper snapper.

Has anyone ever seen this?

With Kim Cattrall? Sure. Didn't she have a shower scene in that one?

The poster's tagline made me think of Enemy Mine. Then I watched the trailer. Low budget isn't the word. This makes classic Star Trek look like Industrial Light and Magic did the special effects.

I have to break this movie down into 4 parts.

1/4 - Humorous but basically just entertaining and fun.
2/4 - Hilarious and exciting, basically what the previews showed.
3/4 - Strange, depressing, and just... WTF.
4/4 - More WTF followed by heartfelt emotion. Still WTF

It's hard to grade films like this. It's a far stretch from 40yo Virgin or Forgetting Sarah Marshall, but it's not horrible either. I doubt I'll ever watch it again, and it had no memorable lines, so for a comedy, I'd consider it a bomb. D+

Never Let Me Go.

Perhaps one of the most depressing films I've seen in a long time. I wouldn't recommend watching this one alone, or if you're in a dark mood.
