On paper Avatar is definitely trite.

But there is so much visceral emotion that carries through in the imagery that is moving.

For me just Jake and Neytiri walking through the trees at night. Wordless or the looks they share. There is a tangible beauty to everything that in art can carry a thin plot. I decided not to be a cheap bitch and watched it digital 3-D the first time out and it made all the difference to how moving the experience. It definitely helped that you didn't suffer chronic migraines after the film.

Got it on bluray and it still rocks my socks even though it is Pocahontas Reloaded.

Hate to admit it but I'll be first in line for all the trilogy parts.
