Lets get this over with before I get too busy this weekend :|
To keep it simple, just the important categories here, predictions in BOLD

BEST COMEDY SERIES
Entourage
Family Guy
Flight of the Conchords
How I Met Your Mother
The Office
30 Rock
Weeds

It's emmy GOLD, and it's a really funny show. I'd be surprised if it lost.

BEST ACTOR IN A COMEDY SERIES
Alec Baldwin - 30 Rock
Steve Carell - The Office
Jemaine Clement - Flight of the Conchords
Jim Parsons - The Big Bang Theory
Tony Shalhoub - Monk
Charlie Sheen - Two and a Half Men

BBT is one of the rare shows to make me LULZ constantly. I wan't to predict Steve Carell, but I think it's Jim Parsons' year.

BEST ACTRESS IN A COMEDY SERIES
Christina Applegate - Samantha Who?
Toni Collette - United States of Tara
Julia Louis-Dreyfus - The New Adventures of Old Christine
Tina Fey - 30 Rock
Mary-Louise Parker - Weeds
Sarah Silverman - The Sarah Silverman Program

She always wins. And for good reason.

SUPPORTING ACTOR IN A COMEDY SERIES
Jon Cryer - Two and a Half Men
Kevin Dillon - Entourage
Neil Patrick Harris - How I Met Your Mother
Jack McBrayer - 30 Rock
Tracy Morgan - 30 Rock
Rainn Wilson - The Office

No Jermey Piven? This is just a random guess... since hes the HOST and all.

SUPPORTING ACTRESS IN A COMEDY SERIES
Kristin Chenoweth - Pushing Daisies
Jane Krakowski - 30 Rock
Elizabeth Perkins - Weeds
Amy Poehler - Saturday Night Live
Kristen Wiig - Saturday Night Live
Vanessa Williams - Ugly Betty

PD & UB fail. SNL wasn't that good last season. *shrug*

BEST DRAMA SERIES
Big Love
Breaking Bad
Damages
Dexter
House
Lost
Mad Men

Only because it's won so many times before. Personally, I can't stand the show. I'd prefer that Breaking Bad or Damages win.

BEST ACTOR IN A DRAMA SERIES
Simon Baker - The Mentalist
Gabriel Byrne - In Treatment
Bryan Cranston - Breaking Bad
Michael C. Hall - Dexter
Jon Hamm - Mad Men
Hugh Laurie - House

With the epic second season, and already renewed for a third, Breaking Bad is my favorite drama next to Dexter. Considering Bryan Cranston won last year in this category, and the show also received a peabody award... this is the logical guess for me.

BEST ACTRESS IN A DRAMA SERIES
Glenn Close - Damages
Sally Field - Brothers & Sisters
Mariska Hargitay - Law & Order: SVU
Holly Hunter - Saving Grace
Elisabeth Moss - Mad Men
Kyra Sedgwick - The Closer

No other actress can hold a candle to Glenn Close's character on Damages. This might as well be a category named "whos name is Glenn Close"

SUPPORTING ACTOR IN A DRAMA SERIES
Christian Clemenson - Boston Legal
Michael Emerson - Lost
William Hurt - Damages
Aaron Paul - Breaking Bad
William Shatner - Boston Legal
John Slattery - Mad Men

See my previous Breaking Bad comments.

SUPPORTING ACTRESS IN A DRAMA SERIES
Rose Byrne - Damages
Hope Davis - In Treatment
Cherry Jones - 24
Sandra Oh - Grey’s Anatomy
Dianne Wiest - In Treatment
Chandra Wilson - Grey’s Anatomy

Hot + great actress. She worked off Glenn Close so beautifully. Then again... I've never seen Grey's Anatomy or In Treatment. Oh well...

REALITY COMPETITION PROGRAM
The Amazing Race
American Idol
Dancing With The Stars
Project Runway
Top Chef

The Amazing Race has never lost in this category. Sure thing once again.

TUNE IN THIS SUNDAY

I never watch this red carpet pre-show crap, but I'm bored today with nothing else to do.
HOLY SHIT I'm glad I watched it. I've rewound and re-watched the Anna Torv (Fringe) interview at least 4 times.

...herro?
Is anybody in there? Just nod if you can here me.

This forum really is dead.
Anyways, I got 5 out of 11. One word sums up this years emmys: surprising

Toni Collette for United States of Tara? I don't know ONE person who watches that. I tried to watch the pilot episode because it was free on iTunes, but i deleted it after 15 minutes. It was REALLY bad. How did she beat Tina Fey, who is 80% why 30 Rock is so good... yet, 30 Rock won best comedy? It baffles the mind.

Jon Cryer for Two and a Half Men? REALLY? My mom is the only person I've ever met who watches that show, and even she says it's "pretty lame". I saw the first 1/3 of an episode (beginning to first commercial break) at work one time, because no one could find the remote control for the break room TV... and it was BAD. Really bad. The jokes wern't that bad, they were so-so, but the timing/delivery/acting of everyone on screen was just pathetic. Jon Cryer's speech should have basically been "Thank god Jermey Piven wasn't included this year. Good night!"

Kristen Chenoweth for Pushing Dasies? I thought that show got canceled. Seriously, didn't it? I saw the first episode, and remember looking forward to it, but it turned into a sappy love story with bad acting. I think Smash watches it... but I might be thinking of some guy in a nursing home that I met once. He told me that watching Pushing Dasies made him realize that death would be a sweet relief compared to the continuation of that show.

Supporting Actor and Actress in a drama made me happy. Michael Emerson is the best part of Lost, besides Terry O'Quinn. Cherry Jones was unexpected, but worthy of a win after her great portrayal as the first female president.

Everything else was as expected. If you haven't seen them already, I hope everyone goes out and rents/buys 30 Rock & Breaking Bad.

Also; I made a sexy Anna Torv video compilation from her time on stage. fap fap.

Minters! Even though shes got a bit of manstockiness about her, I'd still like to rent a nice little sensory deprivation chamber for two and take her to another dimension.

Didn't watch the Emmys cos I've barely watched any of the new shows, and I figured an awards show would have mega spoiler clips.

Is that Flashforward any good?

Doesn't start until this Thursday (24th). I had an advance copy, but I didn't watch it because it was 4:3, and I don't mind waiting a few days to see it in 16:9 HD. I'll let you know if it's good or not next week.

It's probably going to be good...but I'm really starting to weary of drawn out unanswered 'mystery' shows. Lost, Fringe, etc. I still like the ones I'm watching but I cringe at the idea of another one in the queue. I guess that's why I really grafted to Leverage, Dark Blue, even Royal Pains. I feel relatively satisfied after each show.

Life, the fact that they wrapped everything up at the end of it's run, was just amazing. I completely expected to be left hanging.

You should check out Lie To Me, Castle and/or Flashpoint. For the most part, each episode is a self-contained story without any big cliffhangers or long-running secrets/plots/mysteries. And all 3 of them are pretty good shows.

Myself, I love drawn out 'mystery' shows... it gives me encouragement to tune in next time. The 3 shows I just mentioned, along with Leverage, Dark Blue & Royal Pains, none of them make me go "OH SWEET A NEW EPISODE OF ______!!!" Yes, I really enjoy them, but I rarely have any desire to prioritize them at the top of my "must watch" list. If I want to see a self-contained story, I'll watch a sitcom. Maybe that's why I like reality TV so much, there's always a huge tease to make you tune in for the next episode.

Long-running ideas that transfer from episode to episode really drive me to be a fan of a particular show. I love looking forward to the following episode... it keeps my creative brain juices going all week.

I totally blame Lost. I can only go so long with no pay out or realizing that the writers are just making shit up as they go.

For Cuse and Lindeholf to say during Season 1 of Lost "Everything will be explained with mundane means" and then to tell the fans that their theories of 'time travel' and 'purgatory' are foolish...and now graft to that?

Fuck you both. I wish I could kick you both in the nuts. Twice.
