Superman Returns...Again?

So the rumors have been verified...

I'm personally psyched. I don't think Snyder has made a poor film yet, and I'm not going to count animated stuff like this talking owl movie.
The big question is, since this will apparently be another reboot, will we pretend Superman Returns never happened, and that Kal-El doesn't have a son with Lois?

This isn't Cavill's first Superman rodeo, having been a leading contender for the part back when Brett Ratner and McG were attached to direct Superman Returns (which, as you know, Bryan Singer ended up making with Brandon Routh).
Cavill was also the runner-up to Daniel Craig for the role of James Bond in Casino Royale, but was ultimately deemed too young for the role. He is also said to have auditioned for the title role in Batman Begins.
This guy is probably thinking "It's about bloody time..."

It's been a few weeks since the rumors first surfaced, but Oscar winner Kevin Costner is said to be all but officially announced as playing Jonathan Kent in the Superman reboot.
Deadline claims that the JFK and Dances With Wolves actor has signed a deal to play Superman's adoptive father. He will join the previously announced cast members Henry Cavill as Superman and Diane Lane as Jonathan's wife, Martha Kent.
