So... Does anybody watch it? It does have its moments of plot lapse or poor characterization, but I find myself enjoying it alot more than most tv as of late. Since I work nights, it's one of the few network series that I can watch (it's on demand every week, and if they stop putting it there, I'm going to have to bite the bullet and buy a DVR).

I watch it, and agree that it is one of the more compelling shows currently running.

I have to admit being rather shocked that it's doing well enough to stay on the air, given that I don't know anyone else who watches it. Until now.

I was surprised to find out that several other members of my extended family watch it religiously. Took a long time to find out, though. Usually when one of them finds a show they like, they go on and on about it.

...and nobody mentioned it here, either, until now, but we both watch it. So, maybe it's got more of a following than we realize.

On Demand cuts out the "next week on Jericho" teaser, but I hear that it hints that Jake is going to go off of Jimmy's hunch about the badge and confront Hawkins. Could be interesting.

Looks like they just cancelled it, and replaced it with a reality show about kids in a Lord of the Flies type scenario.

Yeah, I agree with you about the poor characterization. I always thought that it had a really good premise, but they could have done so much more with it. It's hard not to vomit whenever the mom appears for a heartfelt talk set against that damn fiddle music.

I'm pretty pissed that it got canceled, especially since it was due to CBS' own idiocy, mostly, that viewership wasn't as strong as it could have been. I wish they would come back with a 6 hour miniseries or the like, just to wrap it up, but they won't.

Since the day the cancellation was announced, Jericho fans haven't been going down quietly.

The latest campaign is to say (and send) NUTS! to CBS. Over half a ton of roasted peanuts arrived at the NYC offices today. They'll get over two tons tomorrow!

You're right, CBS screwed up pretty bad. Didn't they put like a 4 month hiatus in the middle of the season? I think I read something about the networks fixing all of those hiatuses (hiati?) and off weeks for the next season. That should help.

Downloaded eps 1-11, just to check it out. So far, I've enjoyed one and two.

I'm convinced that this whole "split season / hiatus" thing is to lead to greater profit per DVD sale. Why?

Over $43,000 raised, 15 TONS of peanuts purchased, so far (14+ already delivered).

Fans also raised enough money to put full page ads in Variety and the Hollywood Reporter.

There's coverage in two different articles of the NYTimes (yesterday's business and TV sections), and so many other major paper, TV, and web-based news outlets it's crazy.

The protest campaign to bring back Jericho is easily the largest ever mounted to save a TV show.

I don't know what the rationale is behind the hiatus, but LRV is right, the networks have mentioned that they're going to avoid such long hiatuses next year. Perhaps the DVD prices are designed to go up with them, but I think they're realizing that losing a show's viewership is a bigger problem.

I really hope the campaign is successful. I was pissed off when I heard the news of cancellation. We need to have some sense of closure. CBS (and other any other network who found themself in the same boat) has no one to blame but themselves. These long breaks mid-season are momentum killers. Hell, even Heroes suffered a ratings drop because of their hiatus.

I already had a lack of love for CBS after they axed Smith without really letting it get its feet under it. I think that might have been a coo show, but we'll never know...

Yeah. Of course, often that frustration is intentional, I'm sure. Part of a serial being what it's supposed to be. Glad you're enjoying it, though.
