Per the voice over: I'd like to see it without it. As soon as you give a directing voice over to run the risk of what Smash pointed out. You're safe and the character is safe. It's comforting for the viewer and for a tense dramatic show like this the viewer should feel as unsafe as possible.

Plus the writers should be able to write out what he's saying as action and relay the same message(s).

So with 4 million viewers this gets a renew but Smith draws over 7 million and it gets canned?

Cable TV is going to get all the talented creatives with circumstances progressing like that.

And yes, you don't need nearly the viewing audience on cable to get renewed that you do on network. It's one of the reasons why so many of today's good shows are on cable channels. Rescue Me, Battlestar Galactica, The Shield, Nip/Tuck, the various pay channel shows.

Reality tv and game shows are turning network television into a wasteland.

And the networks can't understand why they keep losing audience. They think that the viewers attention span is more and more limited.

Ironically, it's the exact opposite.

Thanks for the heads-up, but I'm usually pretty safe. I only use public trackers when the private ones have no seeds. I also run PeerGuardian 2 when I'm downloading. New movies seems to get the most hits on PeerGuardian, so I try to download them sparingly.

2-hour season finale next week, starting an hour early. Don't forget.

Lucy Lawless has still got it. That was fun to see. I was disappointed by the hammy "I lost my son" acting 'til it came out that it was supposed to be fake.

The fact that Psych has Kevin Sorbo next week is pretty funny. Pulling back all the old myth-action series stars for guest appearances is cool.

Yeah, and another unconventional ending. I like that things aren't always tied up with a nice little bow as one might expect. The world of spies, assassins and criminals isn't all hugs and puppies after all.

The part where Lucy switches from damsel-in-distress to bad-ass killer made me lol, with the captions switching and all.

Yes, the caption switching from 'client' to 'assassin' was lol funny.

Good finale. Action packed. I ended up liking Sam, Nate, and Mom even more when it was done, too.

The only crappy part was the blurb at the end stating that season two starts next summer. fuh-uhck that's a damned long time to wait for a new episode.

I was watching the last epiosde of Burn Notice and had a crazy youth flashback.

All of a sudden I was watching a guy named Micheal driving a talking car into the back of a lorry. Micheal goes around helping defenceless citizens by operating above the law using special tactics and a cheesy smile.

It's not any different than any other cable show. Cable shows run 13 episodes, so there's more of a gap between seasons from the basic network 22-24 episodes.

24 is a full year away. Lost. Shield too. Nip/Tuck has been... etc.

Guess I didn't realize. Thanks for the explanation. I haven't watched alot of tv since high school, and especially not much at all in the last 4 years, since I started working nights and staying up most of the day with other pursuits. It's only the magic of DVR that gives me the chance to see more TV, now.

The good thing about it is that I rarely have nothing to watch. I'm catching up on season 1 of Mythbusters at this point, and loving it. My friends laugh at me when I ask if they've seen an episode that has been rerun 40,000 times.

It seems like a promising show, but the whole sunglasses thing bothers me. lol The main character resembles James Franco a bit to me for some reason, which is a good thing (yes I'm a girl).

Same. Shes a good actress, so in the beginning I was kind of wtf The transition was cool, the directing was thoughtful. It was like in seconds she went from damsel in distress to Xena. lol

New season starts July 10th. USA is airing last season's episodes now. (We're up to ep 5 or 6 at this point.)

I remember reading somewhere that they're going to have another lead character joining the cast... Whether or not this will be a good thing is questionable, but we'll have to see..

It's Tricia Helfer (of Battlestar Galactica fame). Whether or not that's a good thing...YMMV.

Woo hoo! I rewatched all the shows the last few weeks. I am genuinely looking forward to it.

I read a critic snapshot of season2, it wasn't so good. They said that Season 2 had lost its comedic-wit, and instead relies on Michael's mother for the humor. They hoped it wasn't going to stay that way.
