That was my guess without looking... I'm at the in-laws over the weekend. Their computer sux, though, and I can't get anything to stream worth a damn, so no google earth.

Yes, it is the Panama Canal. The actual picture shown is of the Miraflores Locks. Interestingly, the canal flows general northwest to southeast when going from the Atlantic (east) to the Pacific (west).
