I think Gary Larson has already discoursed about this at length.
Anyways, I used to have a similar question about why it's okay to drink the milk from animals but human breast milk is gross, but I've figured out that it's got to do with mortality and people not wanting to think they're made of meat and tubing. Animals have bodily functions and are born and die but people want to think they're made to order by God and super special and instead of having internal organs they have dreams and starlight, and us being mammals that produce milk and other bodily fluids totally fucks with that and reminds us that our insides probably aren't under warranty and it really doesn't take that much to make the valves start sticking and you have no proof that you have an immortal soul except for your fervent hope that you do.
It's a downer for some people.
Plus milking cows is way less expensive.

I actually wouldn't know, I've never had it.
But I know, and have heard of, a lot of people who do think it's nasty.
Plus all the sitcoms that have the joke where some jerk just goes through somebody's refridgerator without asking and starts chugging milk and then the new mother comes through asking somebody to bring her the breast milk and said jerk spews everywhere and tries to wash his mouth out with gasoline or something.
That kind of stuff.
Not important.
