What if Death Wish, French Connection, Kiss of The Dragon, Commando and the Bourne Trilogy had a film baby?
Not a regular baby but a hardcore MMA, ultimate fighting devil spawned demon baby that started of nice and sweet like Kramer vs Kramer then turned into a close quarter hand-to-hand limb-snapping knife-fighting Krav Maga style head-stomping fuck fest about a former covert op specialist trying to locate his kidnapped daughter.
What if his moral compass was broken and stuck on "Save daughter- Fuck everyone else" ?
Well that film is Taken. It is for me, right up there with the Bourne films if not a touch better with the hand-to-hand stuff.
93 tight minutes of no fucking around. This turns on a dime from estranged family drama, to suspense film to straight adrenaline chug at about the 20 minute mark.
Fasten your seatbelt and hang on. This is old school fuck-them-up BADNESS!
Opens stateside in September.
