Snack Foods

Let me start a thread that concerns something everyone holds dear: food.

I went to my local grocery today, looking for something to snack on. All I wanted was a can of Pringles potato chips. It seems simple enough, no? Oh, but no. Now there are legions of Pringles chips. Salt and Vinegar? Cheezums? Sour cream and onion? PIZZA? What the heck happened? Back in my day there was only one flavor of Pringle - the one in the red tube.

Yes, I'm an old, so what.

Then I looked at all the other snacks and realized that this trend of adding 'flavor' has spread to Doritos, Fritos, Tortilla Chips, Popcorn. Good lord, when does it end? This can't be healthy.

So I did what any idiot guy would do: I bought one of tube of each Pringles and taste tested them. People eat this stuff?! My tongue literally went numb.

Are there any bastardized flavors of snackfoods that don't suck?

The ones I'm primarily concerned with are the snack foods that cause anal leakage. Those are generally the fat free ones so I keep away from them.

Olestra is not your friend :bah:

I generally stick to the plain ol' original flavored snack foods. The only other flavor I can tolerate is sour cream and onion.

The worst "flavor" I've ever seen for a potato chip has to be the Dill Pickle Lays.

Personally, I love Doritos. But not just any flavor, Salsa Verde. It has a slight sting to it.

Smith's Oriental Beef and Spring Onion flavour.

Thank god for multinational malnutrition.

Where do you find that flavor at? I've never heard of Smith's brand.

At my last job I once bought a bag of the <a href='http://rapsnacks.com/home.htm' target='_blank'>L'il Romeo BBQ-with-Honey Rap Chips</a>. They weren't that bad.

I'm presuming he means <a href='http://www.smiths.com.au/smiths.html' target='_blank'>this brand</a>

And your point? I've never heard of Smith brand. They don't sell that where I'm at. At least not in Waco.
