November 17, 2005 -- DID Mischa Barton (above) pull a split-second wardrobe malfunction on last week's episode of "The OC?" Eagle-eyed viewers of the hit Fox show swear up and down they caught a shot of Barton's nipple as the pajama-clad starlet got out of bed in one scene. And we heard a formal FCC complaint had been lodged against the network, alleging the prime-time nipple slip was deliberate. So, did Mischa bare her bosom on purpose? A Fox spokesperson tells PAGE SIX's Fernando Gil, "We are not aware of any complaint being filed."

Anyone remember the Elaine nip slip on Seinfeld? It was in the episode where her boyfriend from out of town has stayed with her for too long and she is trying to get him the hell out of there. They wake up late and she is running around in a white pajama outfit that is loose fitting. When it originall aired her nipple was plain to see...and in the reruns there is a little skip in the show where it would be. They didn't even blur it, they simply cut it out.

Interestingly, that is why there is a episode later in the series where Elaine's nipple is accidentally exposed on a Christmas card...they were making fun of themselves!

All of that to say, the OC won't be fined. They may be asked to edit more carefully, that's all.
