Anyone else watch any of this?
I tried to get into it, I really did. But like most Brit sci-fi television, the whole thing just got too hokey for me. That and something about the production values of most of those UK series just screams low-budget. The one that I do own on DVD is Ultraviolet. Now that was a cool show.
Oh, the one thing I did like about Torchwood was the setting. I'm not at all familiar with Cardiff, Wales, but it looks like a pretty cool city. Very futuristic in parts, like around that Millennium Center area where the squad is headquartered. And I admired the fact that they didn't just set it in London as I would guess would be the tendency.

Re: Torchwood
The new Doctor Who series is shite, so it's not a stretch to imagine that a spinoff series based on a shite series might also be pretty shite.
I don't get how they've become so popular given that they're so cheap and the scripts sound like they were plucked out of a junior school writing competition. Torchwood is supposed to be a darker, more adult sci-fi show whereas Doctor Who is more family oriented, but basically it just means that they get to swear a bit more and sex it up with some tame ass innuendo.
A far cry from futuristic, most of the decent things to see are ancient (like castles and museums).
If I can find some pics, I'll post them for ya (don't get ya hopes up though, half my discs don't have labels on them).

I live (t)here. It ain't all that and a bag of chips. They've only recently revamped the bay, and with the proper lighting, pretty much any place can look awesome.I'm not at all familiar with Cardiff, Wales, but it looks like a pretty cool city.

Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the Universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the Universe is winning.
