Re: Burn Notice
We'll have to see how Tricia does, but I think last night was a triumphant return. It actually seemed to have more action than the episodes from last year, which is good, as long as they don't drop the ball on the humor and character development. It also seems, perhaps, that they have a better budget due to success. The cinematography seemed better, the locations more varied, and the sets did not seem to be recycled 3 or 4 times, as they often appeared to be the first season (thinking of a certain seaside mansion, for example).
I do hope that Michael doesn't end up slave to Carla's clandestine clown club all season. I can see it getting old quick, with our hero being ground beneath the wheel of the machine if he doesn't sabotage it quickly.
Don't know if you're a fan of Oded Fehr (of The Mummy and Resident Evil movies, amongst others) , AB, but he's going to be a guest this season, at some point. I know that's one episode that my lady won't be missing, even though she's not a big Burn Notice fan.

Re: Burn Notice
This made my day. I was never a big TV watcher, but this show is definitely one of my favorites, probably because of the characters. There's something about a character who is calm while staring down the barrel of a gun, but insane about his mother smoking in a stolen car thats kind of...endearing, if you will.exelis wrote:Don't know if you're a fan of Oded Fehr (of The Mummy and Resident Evil movies, amongst others) , AB, but he's going to be a guest this season, at some point. Re: Burn Notice
I was annoyed at TV Guide (mighta been Entertainment Weekly) implying the show mucked with the formula this season by taking the humor away from Fiona/Michael/Sam and leaving it with just the Mom (Sharon Gless). I worried about it unnecessarily until the season premiere. And then I was like 'wtf are they talking about? It's the same as it ever was!'
What it was/is, btw, is pure summer goodness!

I concur with Old.
I think I read the same review article before seeing the Season 2 premiere, and I was all worried, but so far I don't see any difference. It's still fun.

Re: Burn Notice
Any thoughts on last nights episode?
I can't quite put my finger on it, but I'm not liking this season as much as I enjoyed last season. I'm hoping maybe its a rocky start or something. Still love this show, but it's like its missing just a little bit of...oompfh somehow.

Re: Burn Notice
I watched it at 3am after work. There are a couple parts that seemed rather inconsistent with last year's writing that I need to look at again and reconcile (if possible) before I comment.
Namely the mall surveillance scene and the seemingly under-thought-out but still successful sniper/assassination setup.

Re: Burn Notice
Guess I'll not be commenting on that premiere episode, since I don't recall what bugged me. Suffice it to say that the season only got better (which is more than I can say for Terminator or Heroes).
Burn Notice is back on January 22nd, in case you folks hadn't heard.

Re: Burn Notice
How is it that no one has commented on the triumphant return of Burn Notice?
Even if it's just Eamon saying how when he wrote an episode of Burn Notice in the first season it was way, way awesomer and less sarcastic than this stinking pile of dog poo and how he would never stoop to such pedestrian tricks as including a cute kid in an episode or making Michael a nice guy who can't resist a cute kid, thus forcing him to help the father of cute kid for free or showing that Fiona has maternal instincts (kind of) after all?
For the record, that last part was my favorite.
And Eamon is a worthless cockgobbler.

Re: Burn Notice
Havent got round to it yet.
You never mentioned whether the cute kid was male or female - I think its pretty important to state which on this website.

Re: Burn Notice
Male.
And too young to be of interest to anyone other than Eamon, even if he was a she.

Re: Burn Notice
I haven't commented on Burn Notice because I am horribly behind in watching it. Damn you Fallout 3! You've stolen my (non existent) life!
Re: Burn Notice
i havent read this thread yet but i did see the season 1 dvd in stores and was wondering SHOULD I GET IT.
Re: Burn Notice
GET.
Re: Burn Notice
Is this now considered season 3 or is it the 2.5 b.s. they now have?
Either way....this show still holds up amazingly.
