Wow you seemed to know these facts so well it was like you cut and paste them
No one still answered this dumbass guy's original question of 'What caused world war 2?'
I can't figure what he's trying to start here. A debate on Darwinism? It seems like a stupid question!

Now who is the dumbass?
How is it a stupid question? What's stupid is most people don't know the answer but have a pretty strong opinion about the outcome.
Because you are throwing a pitch in the dirt. Darwinism fueled national paranoia and a need to be 'THE race'. England went through similar pangs as they faked an exacavation of the earliest known man. At the same time, you could point to the stricken poverty and economic decline following world war I and Hitler's pumping the economy into gear by manufacturing war machines. You could point to a long history of European leaders bent on conquest, Napolean just to name one. You could point to the fact that Russia and Japan were currently engaged in conflicts before WWII broke out. You could point to the massive competition to gobble up African and Middle Eastern land by the French, English, Germans and Italians. You could point to a lot of these background things that set the stage for a global conflict to ignite under otherwise insignificant circumstances.
But I suspect, as I stated with my pitch in the dirt, that you are trying to bait someone into calling them stupid while you browbeat them with your 'reason' why the war started. Which is stupid and pointless to think there is one sole, solitary reason that many nations joined in a conflict. Or that there is a simple reason the conflict began in the first place.
If it was simple, there wouldn't hundreds of books filled with thousands of pages on the topic.
And that, pal, is why this is a stupid question.
I love WIKIPEDIA.
<a href='http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Causes_of_world_war_ii' target='_blank'>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Causes_of_world_war_ii</a>
That should sum it up.

So it's a stupid question because you pressumed my reasoning for asking was to bait someone? I suspect you did so because it's something you would do. I however just wanted to know what people thought because most people seem to have no idea. I figured it would be informative for those that don't really know and should because it's kind of important. There are thousands of books written on thousands of things. You can however summarize it for people and make it easier to digest than a 120 page thesis.
It also seems to differ greatly depending on cultural back ground and economic stature. I asked a room full of Jewish people and they all swore the war was started as a way to exterminate them and that was as much as they knew or wanted to discuss.
I asked this because as much as people like to hammer certain points home about not forgetting history so we don't repeat it they're certainly leaving out some rather important stuff from history books and their are growing circumstances that parrallel those that lead up to world was 2.
And that, fukwit, is what it's a perfectly valid question and you're a petty little shit who needs to relax.
Thanks for contributing though sport. Feel free to come back and play again. Next time leave you dolly at home please.
Jesus Smash..... I'd need to be up in the morning to catch you out!Smash wrote:Wow you seemed to know these facts so well it was like you cut and paste them

To any other interested parties;
Hit this link again.
Pretty much everything you want to know is <a href='http://www.threeworldwars.com/overview.htm' target='_blank'>here!</a>
Now scroll down the page. It gives you the 'commonly believed cause of WW2' and then it gives you 'the real cause of WW2'
And for good measure, it tells you the same information for WW1 and the potential for WW3!
Now, with that in mind... it astounds me why anyone bothers posting here. Well I realise they don't! - but i was under the impression that if someone asks a question and someone else makes the effort to provide the information...... it might possibly be read, maybe discussed or at least acknowledged.
Obviously Blackmage ignored it, Smash didn't read it, and Eamon just uses the opportunity to launch yet another tyrade.
The link I provided may not be the definitive answer as to the reasons for WW2, but the responses certainly confirms why FUBAR is dead in the water.
Sad really.

You misunderstood, I was being humorous with you, Dougal. I'm sorry that was lost in translation.
Eamon was going for a pitch in the dirt. The title says 'Just wondering if people know' implying he believes that there is a definitive answer. Also, that assumption is predicated on every single other comment he's left on this site. He baits and then berates anyone that falls for his questions. It's a pattern of douchery to the highest degree.
I have no problem with you Dougal, and again I'm sorry you mistook my humor for sarcasm directed at you.

Dougal gave a good link though it places way too much importance on the involvment of America.
Smash tries to rip on anyone who posts because he's a cock'n'ball. He makes cock'n'ball posts all the time. They lame and suck so don't let it irritate you too much.
Blackmage didn't ignore it. He even posted a link.
These forums were hacked yet again by some dipshit (see the top).
I think Dougal needs to lighten up.
Though I do appreciate the link, its really subjective after all the editing that's been done on historical documents.
Seriously has the standard answer I get.
