I love this show but I'm afraid for this season. Too many guest stars. Rosie O'Donnell? Unless they're killing her for 55 minutes before the credits then I won't be happy with whatever episode she rolls into.

Brooke Sheilds. Thumbs down.

AC Slater, I can work with that. He's been unfamous for long enough to have earned a bit of a comeback.

I just wish they had fucked with everyone last season and never actually put any closure on the Carver and kept him a secret. That would have been better.

Last nights was cool.

My only problem with lasts nights was its geting repetitive in the themes explored. And they're really making Christian entirely too weak. We get it...fucking chicks till your 40 will result in unhappiness. Maybe.

I just finished the season 3 DVDs tonight (15 ep. in 8 days = 2 ep. a day)

I have ep. 1 of the new season on TiVo, but didn't watch yet.

So I can't read this thread yet.

Nip/Tuck is becoming one of my top 5 shows. Of all time.

Finally got around to watching it, and whilst I still love the execution of the show (last years carver arc was really good, except for the ending), I just don't get this new baby storyline.

They can drag out the final trimester for the series or have it over within a few weeks, but then what? We get to see them stress and fight over raising a child with a disability whilst Christian tries to fight his feelings? It doesn't sound like gripping TV to me. I trust that they'll make it more interesting than it sounds on paper, but how can it compete with last year's "serial killer out to get them" story?

Also, isn't making Christian a closet case taking the easy route? The seeds have been planted throughout the series which is an admirable bit of character development considering not much shows have that much foresight into their characters, but I've been expecting it since the first series and it just feels like it's gonna be underwhelming if and when they get around to it.

I dunno, I'm probably being overly critical, this show has always had it's surprising elements and it's only one episode in.

You are missing it, sort of. They aren't making him homosexual, just in love with his partner. As in the only person he can have a bonafide real deep personal connection with is Shawn (or Julia). Subtle difference, but it's not 'gay'.

And yes, this is underwhelming since this has been a defining aspect of his character since the inception of the show. I suspect it's not going to be the point, but rather a catalyst for other things to unfold.

I can't remember what it is exactly, but making the carver story both of them... was flawed. I think something about assuming that Julian would contact the media to thwart the carver after he was arrested... I can't remember exactly, but it didn't mesh right.

Funny, I'm highly critical of this show for its bouts of implausability, and yet I can enjoy House which really has the same problem.

Yes exactly, the Carver ending just didn't have any impact, so much so that I can remember most of the series before the conclusion, yet the finale I struggle to find any mental image except for bro and sis sipping cocktails on a sun lounger. After such a season of trauma; both phyiscally and mentally, to the main characters, and then having it end in such a lacklustre way was disappointing. As a comparison, I can tell you pretty much everything that happened in the run up to and actually in the finales of both Smallville and LOST, for instance, but Nip/Tuck I'm really struggling.

Making Christian gay-ish is pretty stupid IMO. If anything I would rather have seen him become the more stable and comfortable character because of his womanizing. Their key demo is having a very negative effect on the progression of the show.

The kid, Matt, is the only thing that can save the show now. I don't care about the stupid club foot baby or whatever it has and I'm totally not interested in tuning in just to see which "celebrity" makes a guest appearance.

At the end of last season Matt killed his girlfriends dad with the tranny he had beat down before. Nothing on him so far this season.

ugh. I fucking hate Matt and his character's plots. They are the most retarded...written entirely for shock value, and entirely impractical. Like any male, female, or shemale would touch that bastard child of Michael Jackson.

It wasn't Christian, it was an equally (if not more so) vain surgeon played by the guy who was Slater Saved by the Bell.

But Christian didn't correct him.

Double fault.

And they even had a Gallardo IN the show at th beginning! Maybe they couldn't get the car donated so they did that to take a jab at Lamborghini?

That's the only plausable reasoning I came up with.

I love nip/tuck.

Unfortunately being at the arse end of the world puts me about 6-9 months on the viewing schedule behind you fellas. That being said I've only got the first 2 seasons of nip/tuck on DVD and the charm of n/t and arguably its weakness is that the series really toes the edge between satire and just being outrightly camp. There's only so many characters and once they all have slept with each other I think they'll end the series.

Maybe that hideous donkeyface pinkfoot motherfucker Matt will crochet Christian with his needle dick.

Maybe Kimber will erm, sleep with Kimber.
