BATTERSTAR GARACTICA

Post by Seriously » 18 Aug 2006 04:07

October.

It'll be epic.

Will they ever even get off the planet now? I don't even know if I want them to. I suppose they'll have too, though.

Freedom fighters forever frack-holes...

Season opener: Scene 1: Balter gets shot in the face!

And wakes up somewhere else.

Actually, that would annoy me. Now, Gaeta getting shot in the face and waking up somewhere else...

I have no idea what to expect. The finale threw my for a loop big time, it was so random.

I hate massive time jumps, but I think when they brought the "sympathetic peace wanting" Cylon story into the mix they had to expedite things a little so they could set up some big events for the season 3. If they'd just done "a week later" and had a huge army of supporters for the Chief-lovin sharon and the Gaius-lovin six, it woulda been unrealistic.

The only thing I'm thinking is maybe some Cylon vs Cylon action....I'd like to see a bit of Sharon on Sharon tbh.

By the way, there's this thing.

Now, if you haven't seen the season 2 finale you're going to want to stay away from that link until you do.

It's a short. To make sure that you still want to watch the show come October.

New ones every Tuesday and Thursday.

Just watched the first episode.....Lee adama (isn't that the name of a cheese?) is now a chubster (probably from all the cheese).

Pretty much what I expected for the opener in terms of content though.

Damn. Ronald Moore is so subtle. Colonel Tigh as Abu Hamza al-Masri is genious.

I was so curious as to how they would pick up this season after the way season 2 ended... geez. No complaints here, a really great episode... but these 2-hour BSG-fests are a bit rough on me. I guess there can be too much of a good thing?

As far as Lee Cheese Adama, It looked like prosthetics to me, especially since that actor is SO skinny... but if he really gained that weight, I commend his dedication to acting (much like Christian Bale in the Machinist). I noticed in his first scene (bathroom), it looked a little fake, and then as he walked to the comm, and talked on it, it only showed his lower torso (stunt double) with all the blubber.. all the other scenes were just his chubby head/face, and the rest of him in full body uniform (padded?).

Off topic a bit - I heard an interview with the creator of The Shield once, and he talked about how great TV shows will "fuck the main characters up... dig their own grave... and once they are in this hole with no possible redemption, that's when it starts to get good."

BSG follows this philosophy to a T.

Yeah it was totally done using prosthetics, I just meant the character has blimped up and gotten lazy which I find a bizarre thing in such a serious show. I know it's meant to show us how he's become complacent and "soft", it's just something I don't think I've ever seen done on a TV show before.

If they plan on having him get back in shape I hope it's a lengthy process and I hope StarBuck gives him a verbal chastising when she sees his tubby ass again.

I'm not reading this thread. I haven't watched yet.

Stupid watching "BSG with Friends". It sucks when I have to wait!

Hey

hey

Does anyone else think that Tigh's a scary, scary genius now?

This is what he was made to do!

Which is actually even more scary.

I hope they don't kill him.

EDIT:

And I hope that Starbuck...

gets better...

I always thought it was stupid that they brought Pegasus in for such a long period of time, after all, the show is called "Battlestar Galactica", with no "and Pegasus" or "accompanied by the more powerful ship Pegasus" etc. etc.

It's about time they blew it up and got everyone back on BSG.

I would actually liked it if they had sacrificed the Galactica and made Pegasus their new home, it being the better ship to, you know, ensure the continued survival of humanity.

I could have lived with a name change.

Battlestar Pegasus! BSP!

But I knew they were going to blow it up eventually.

I also knew they would introduce it at some point. I saw that one episode in the original series.

I didn't see many others.

Dear madams/sirs,

Listen guys.

I know you're marking time until sweeps, or at least I do now, but plot is an animal like unto a shark: if it doesn't go forward it will either die or be jumped.

This last one wasn't nearly as bad as the one before, but it still falls below the baseline.

All I'm asking is par.

Now I know the next episode, be it good or bad, is beyond your powers to alter at this point, but for the one after next please compel your intelligensia to operate at at least 85% capacity. Give them doughnuts or something.

Regards,
