Eamon, I don't agree with you that liking/disliking a female on ethnicity necessarily means you are racist. It could be, but I don't think it is really that simple.
For myself, a girl who's 'technically' ugly can be appealing as all hell to me based on something about her that caught my eye. And conversely someone who is typically perceived as 'beautiful' (blonde hair, blue eyes, white) I usually find 'boring'.
That's not to say that there aren't just pure racist people out there who dismiss people based on religion or ethnicity, but you made it sound like if you don't find asians appealing, then you are racist.
Furthermore, every single one of us, yourself included, IS a racist. It's just a fact, you are brought up in American society (hell any society does this) with a US and THEM attitude. Your peer group almost always is your same economic circle, which usually happens to be your same ethnicity. There are exceptions, of course, but even the group of whities that have the token black friend are still racist.
In my opinion what makes someone RACIST is how they act on these US and THEM feelings or impulses. Do you cross the street because you are white and a bunch of black guys are walking towards you? Do you lock your car doors because you are in a predominately black neighborhood? Do these things make you racist or cautious?
most annoying overused term or phrase?

I don't think racism is determined by reaction. That mentality excuses racist behavior by creating a gray area of intent. It also results in backlashes. I mean the hard core dumbfuk racists will use it. What's the first thing a bigoted jackass does to justify their hatred? They cite examples of other races being shown favoritism based on race. That was the basis of the laughable 'black rage' defense and just about any skinhead will launch into a tirade on how easy minorities have it compared to them when prompted, all backed by examples of someone else being given a leg up because of their race.
Then there is good sense. Yes I lock my car doors in black neighborhoods. So do the black people. Do I cross the street is I see a bunch of black guys? No. If I see a bunch of black guys dressed in the same colour (like red for instance) staring at me like a wayward doe then yeah I cross the street and if they followed I'd be running like hell. That's not racism, that's experience and statistical consistencies. Personally I've never been attacked by an Asian or group of them.
That said I'm not judging them based on their race but their social subculture which they have based on race. I'm locking my car doors because people keep accidentally trying to open them when walking past the car at red lights.
I don't consider playing the odds racist. I think decisions based solely on someone's race are wrong. Broad judgment calls about an individual who is more complicated than their ethnicity are wrong. Thinking someone is dumb because they're black is wrong.
That's what I think anyway.
Per the topic: Anyone who ever smiles at someone and says "calm down".
Because that has never calmed anyone down and just makes the person asking for the calm look like a fag.

"Racism" is a bankrupt and useless term in the 21st century. It already had lost any currency in the late 20th century. Everyone is anti-racist now. Nobody likes the Klan. But every middle aged suburban lady will clutch her purse a little closer when a young black man is nearby. "Color blindness" is also b/s, just another way for guilt-ridden liberals to placate their own feelings. I prefer the terms 'white supremacy' and 'anti-race'.
Hey Sara222, that is all.
