I know the answer, I just want to see someone else take a turn.

Incidentally, on researching this answer, it seems obvious, that if, in fact, there ever were an atlantis, this most likely wasn't it.

Really depends on which theories you subscribe to, and the possibility of errors in translation long ago, but yes, it is only one of many possibilities for the legend's origins, if they were anything more than someone's imagination in the first place.

Maybe less people are around to figure out which island this is that gets mistaken for Atlantis enough that it's wiki-able?

Just give 'em time, I guess.

It's the Greek island of Santorini- Thira - as it also called. :)

We have a winner. And a new face. Welcome aboard NorskVind. It's your turn, pick a place give us a pic (the picture should be facing polar north) and a clue if you think we need it!

Okay, I think we gave NorskVind long enough to come up with a new puzzle. <_<

Let's open the floor up to anyone who thinks they've got a good one to start us up again.

Is it a portion of "The World" archipelago that is under construction off the coast of Dubai?

Cool idea... Odd, but cool.

You solve my puzzles so easily. It's not really a 'portion' though. It is the entire "The World" at its present level of construction.

Well, yeah, it's the entirety of what's been built, a portion of what it will be. Semantics.

Anyway, give less clues if you want it to be harder. I honestly plugged "world archipelago" (world from your clue, and archipelago just from what it looked like) into "the Google" (lol, not), and got it's wiki page as my first hit.

As I said, really cool puzzle entry, though. How'd you hear about it in the first place?

Gotta figure out a good one, myself.
