Anyone seen it?

Went to see it last night. I thought it was a good film, if not a little depressing and sentimental. I thought the camera work was unique and refereshing. The storyline was a little shallow but the strength of the main characters made up for that. I cared what happened to them at the end of the film!

I too saw it yesterday, and I agree with the camera work assessment, long drawn out single shots instead of multiple angled short shots always tend to suck me into the story more.

I also agree that the story was pretty weak, relying too much on dragging out what was unsaid and pointing out the obvious for the sake of the slower audience member.

Overall though, the impressive visuals and big set pieces are what make it worth watching.

The camerawork was the bomb.

There was not much of a story because there isn't much of a story to tell. It's an exodus story, pretty much in the way Saving Pte Ryan was. Get to point A to B to C with the environment becoming the signifier for the character's arc of development.

I came out of this movie exhausted, like I myself had gone through the trials of the film. Loved it because what it did well it did exceedingly so.

Easily the best movie of 2006.

Excellent camera work (as mentioned), brilliant acting, terrific storyline (eamon probably liked the matrix sequels that explained what happened after the first movie) that left at perfect spot to make you think "oh shit".

I can't think of a negative thing to say about CoM. I can't wait to see it on HD-DVD/Blu-ray.

The story was total garbage.

Throw in Jean Claude Van Damme and you've basically got Cyborg with more explosions.

Dex was probably just told he should like it because its got such a supposed rich subtext.

The more people try to defend this movie or tell me what was good about it the more I see how much of a gigantic bag of horse shit it really is.

I can't think of anything we have in common, so your opinion is valid in my eyes. I hate when people try to convince me to change my opinion on movies (or TV. or videogames. etc.)

I'm not going to defend the movie, cuz I didn't make it... so I'll just reiterate that I really enjoyed the fuck out of it. 3 thumbs up.

Tony Scott is a nice guy. You probably used to cream your panties over True Romance until you realized everyone had seen it too so you couldn't like it anymore.

It's not just that the infertility is never explained, a solution is never posited or implemented. It's a little slice of life in a dismal future. Honestly, if they hadn't mentioned the infertility and the girl had red eyes or something it would have been the exact same movie. But then dumbshits worldwide wouldn't be able to pretend it was saying something much deeper that us simpletons don't get and you rocket scientists do but can never actually explain.

This movie loses extra points for luring people into thinking it's smart when it's actually just ultra-stupid.

Pan's Labyrinth comes out this weekend. You get your asses out and see it cause it rocks like an autistic kid in an earthquake.

Saw it friday night.

Liked the movie, thought it was pretty damn good. Very different from the book though. They switched it from male infertility to female for whatever reason.

I loved Micheal Caine though. Seeing him as a aging pot growing hippie was great.
