Sweet. Will have to check it out when I can.

I saw the ads and thought for a while that it was a Kate Beckinsale movie. I guess I've only seen Rhona Mitra in a couple very minor roles before, but she looks hot in this.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0483607/
Just caught the trailer - seems very Mad Max meets Aeon Flux meets Resident Evil to me but I like all those (albeit only parts of AF that ive seen) - might have to give this one a looksee

Not so much Aeon Flux in this movie, other than they both feature a female protagonist. There's a hint of Escape From New York in it though, in the sense that Scotland is a walled-off post-apocalyptic wasteland where the rule of law has ended and bands of maniacs fight for control, and the heroine leads a mission into this hellish place on a desperate quest to save millions of people. Doomsday owes a lot to Mad Max for sure, and also the 28 Days/Weeks Later movies. It's deliciously bloody fun.

I thought the ending was good just because they didn't go any of the 3 cliche ways that I thought that they were going to go.

Really violent, really gorey...totally worth the $7.

And I thought it was Sci-Fi

(probably just annoyed everybody north of the border :D )

I think I will be adding this to my download list when a decent copy comes out.
on a related note - gonna be watching The Mist or Jumper with some of my mates this weekend - should be fun.

Don't bother with Jumper. Good idea exectuted badly. The Mist is by far a better movie even if it's nothing special.
