First new years ever that I did absolutely nothing. I was in bed by 10pm.

I suck.

Me too - but my wife was in the bed with me and we didn't sleep.
I didn't suck - but she did  :D

Most of my friends went home around 10:00, because either

A. they had to work the next day
B. they worked that day, and they were too tired
C. they had a family/friend at home who was spending new years alone
D. they were with someone else who's excuse fit with A, B and/or C

So I spent 10:00-12:00 with a couple (who I left alone) and one female friend, who gave me a kiss on the cheek at midnight. I really wasn't expecting that.

As far as drinking; I had a vodka/7up and later a glass of champagne, but that's about it. Woo 2009!
