Okay so I've been doing what a tonne of other guys out there is doing and trying to find some more pictures of miley - I find quite a few jokes and references to Chris Hansen and I've heard about 'to catch a predator' but never really seen any of it so I'm stuck at work all weekend and thought while its quiet I would go to youtube and fire up a few vids to past the time - msnbc also has a good selection - so I'm going through the old ones one by one taking the piss out of all the guys and what they are trying to do and wondering why they are getting caught doing it and then I watch the latest one and they lure these men in with this actress - shes this 21 year old actress whos real name is kacey and she is hot!! she acts like and looks like a 13 year old which is probably why i like her but hey!! anyone else seen these programmes and thought she was hot?
I'm thinking of trolling some chat rooms and chatting up some 13 year olds hoping they will invite me round and it'll be her - perhaps Chris would be in for a 3some once he discovers my ruse...

There's a lot of scuttlebutt about their less than ethical tactics. Particularly with regards to the Texas (attorney I think) who killed himself. Entrapment is definitely the form of action on their behalf. The (in)famous Texan chickened out of visiting the decoy on at least 3 separate get togethers. After each time, the decoy would try to re-entice him into meeting her. Finally Perverted Justice (the braniacs behind To Catch a Predator) 'ordered' the law enforcement people to go arrest him at his home; where he shot himself. Bear in mind, he did NOT commit a crime. You could argue he was being sexually explicit with a person he believed to be a minor, but in reality it was a team of decoys (all of legal age).
I'm really conflicted on this. How do you define someone who is willing to commit a crime versus someone who's teetering on the edge and is pushed over that edge by blatant attention, seduction, and entrapment?

On paper it sounds like a good idea. Go into chat rooms pretending to be underaged girls - wait for some guy to start hitting on you and harassing you to the point of sending naked photos of himself to you and want to see you in person. Arrange a meet and have a camera crew and name and shame you on national tv and websites.
Where to catch a predator fails in this respect is that the whole deal is arranged by a) a vigilante group and b) a tv network. I think this sort of thing needs to be arrange by the police with the help of a & b. The tv group is looking for ratings so they are out to get as many of these guys as possible and Perverted Justice seem all to happy to help. What they do is actually the opposite of what the perverts are doing. PJ is grooming guys who would otherwise be happy to just get off on their own chatting to underaged girls on these chat rooms. If you manage to grab the 'whole' transcript from pj's website you will see that 90% of the time they are chatting up the guy, enticing him, turning the guy on by responding positively to his advances. Its like a tv crew sending an arrogant guy into a bar to start pushing and bad mouthing drunks until they punch the guy out and then get the drunk arrested for gbh all on national tv. Its not big and its not clever.
If girls are making a complaint about a guy on the room that is grooming them and trying to meet up with them and the complaint is passed on to the police who with the help of pj set up a sting to get the guy and invite the tv crew along for the ride then I cant see a problem with that at all but something tells me they wont get as many pervs turn up to the door as they are doing at the moment. In one 'episode' they even go so far as to point out that they never realised that there are so many perverts out there - thats only cos they are making them! What next - parade this actress in a shopping centre in the nude with shaven bits and arrest any guy that looks at her? - now that would make more interesting viewing IMHO.
