Hi res pics and more boob discussion here.
————————–
And so…
NEW YORK — CBS apologized on Sunday for an unexpectedly R-rated end to its Super Bowl halftime show, when singer Justin Timberlake tore off part of Janet Jackson’s top, exposing her breast.
This stunt with performer Janet Jackson was not well-received by CBS or the NFL. “CBS deeply regrets the incident,” spokeswoman Leslie Anne Wade said after the network received several calls about the show.
The two singers were performing a flirtatious duet to end the halftime show, and at the song’s finish, Timberlake reached across Jackson’s leather gladiator outfit and pulled off the covering to her right breast.
The network quickly cut away from the shot, and did not mention the incident on the air.
It was unclear whether Timberlake intended to expose Jackson’s breast.

Well I don’t personally think it was "America’s overeaction to nudity" it was, though, a reaction of nudity during a show not only unsuspecting people watched, but kids, too. So the fact is, if it was planned, it was in my opinion bad taste. Though, I’m not complaining 🙂
#22 | Comment by Goddie — February 2, 2004 @ 2:15 am
DAMN! I knew this site would be first with the top-notch janet jackson titty exposure pictures…good stuff, good stuff.
I don’t get why she looks so traumatized though. It’s just boobies.

hahah, i was standing 20 feet away when that happened (as part of the on-field casted audience). funny!
#24 | Comment by sarah — February 2, 2004 @ 12:13 pm
Is anyone else not amazed by CBS’s reaction to this?
"CBS deeply regrets the incident"
What the fuck? What a fabulous example America’s overeaction to nudity (or sex if you can call it that) And to think, CBS’s #1 rated show is CSI – a show with graphic depictions of death – and they deeply regret an exposed breast?
Fuck you CBS. Thank you, Janet Jackson.

Imagine!
An investigation re Janet’s Boobs: could this be the missing WMD
(to distract from the exposure of the CIA agent).
Maybe we should embrace this investigation:
then we can buy cornflakes or motorcars without
sex. This will also restore the missing respect to the African continent, since there will be no more bare breasts in our living rooms..Thank U Janet!
#30 | Comment by Marlin — February 3, 2004 @ 4:35 am
The press reaction to this makes me so embarrassed to be an American. Can there really be people so offended at such an ordinary thing as a breast? It’s not like a boob is such a secret thing- we’ve all seen them, and half us even own a pair.
#31 | Comment by Matt — February 3, 2004 @ 2:44 pm
Wow…it’s a breast! I suppose people have never seen one before in their life. Children, I assume, are never breastfed in America and bras are not sold in most clothing stores. Nobody in the population has breasts or is a female. We do not have a national obsession with Victoria’s Secret or bathing suits.
Oh wait…yes we do.
Talk about overreacting!

waitaminute… the red lacy undergarment timberlake said he meant to expose is just a bit of lace along the snap-off boob-cover!
Check it out in this pic, you can see it in his hand, man… it’s just a leather piece with some red trim.

If you hire MTV you don’t get family shows, you get MTV! Hire Disney or Fox entertainment, and then check to see if you get what you pay for. The fines handed out are a joke, they all got max exposure (all puns are good). Next year their numbers will be even higher and more money made. This whole thing is a Tempest in a Tea Cup. GET OVER IT !!!!
#35 | Comment by AnctRanger — February 3, 2004 @ 8:22 pm
I have never been so disgusted with a Network station like CBS. People should never be exposed to such DEMONIC things like women’s breasts. I’ll abandon CBS and watch good HOLY programming on one of the many News channels. Sexual content is UNHOLY and HELLBOUND! Children should be only watching children’s programming and News that shows bombed out Hospitals, Hotels, Houses, Ambulances, power plants, etc. The infrasturcture of those UNHOLY countries in the THIRD WORLD are meant to be destroyed (for the betterment of all mankind) by our wonderful, spit-polished, SERVANTS OF GOD who presently occupy the WHITEHOUSE. Death and destruction in service to GOD…………………OHHHHHHHH……Janet blessed the news agencies by taking most of the media’s attention off of the stuff that really matters……….Close your eyes people and obey our fearless leaders……sheeeeeeep…..

With the exception of the 16 yr old boys still going through puberty and the men who haven’t had a date in 10 years, I think most of us realize that it isn’t the fact that we saw a someone’s breast, but the context in which it was shown. I don’t think it’s ok that my 10 year old is being led to think that it’s "cool" to rip off a woman’s clothes in front of millions – did any of you idiots make the connection to all of the teen pregnancies, underaged sex, sexually transmitted diseases and infidelity to the crap that’s become acceptable over the past few years? The problem is not that we’re over-reacting to this, it’s that we haven’t reacted enough in the past.

Someone help…I can’t stop masterbating! My pecker is totally red and sore…my nuts are on empty! Thanks Timberlake…I owe ya!(Next time rip off her pants too!)
#39 | Comment by Micheal Jacko — February 4, 2004 @ 7:53 am
well, concerned mom… I don’t know about you but the fact that i’ve been able to get my hands on much worse things than someone exposing a breast in public since well before i was even 10 years old… I think this has pretty well no effect on all those issues you mentioned. On the other hand.. I also find it horribly unexciting 😛

I think most of us realize that it isn’t the fact that we saw a someone’s breast, but the context in which it was shown.
No, the FCC cares because a breast was shown. The media cares because of the breast. Everyone is all a titter because of the breast.
There are no regulations when it comes to exploitative images and good taste.
As far as televised messages about appropriate ways to treat women… the super bowl half-time show is the least of our problems.
I don’t think it’s ok that my 10 year old is being led to think that it’s "cool" to rip off a woman’s clothes in front of millions
If Justin Timberlake can cause your 10 year old to believe that … you’re doing something wrong. By the time a kid is that age, he should see that on TV, and gasp about how he shouldn’t have done that to her.
People can bitch all they want about the images on TV. But it’s parents who instill the values that determine how the child reacts to such images.
#42 | Comment by Amy — February 4, 2004 @ 2:20 pm
… and as far as the abundance of idiotic comments around here about the whole incident…
Some of them are said in irony, some of them are said for shock value, and the rest are posted by drooling morons.
For all of the boys demonstrating misogynistic and obnoxious points of view, blame the parents. They forgot to teach them something.
#43 | Comment by Amy — February 4, 2004 @ 2:28 pm
not planned my ass. if not would she have had her little design there waiting for the entire world to see? i dont think she wears that everyday just for the hell of it.maybe she just wants attention.guess what she got it but with the wrong kind of reviews. think twice next time janet

How foolish!!! Living in France for over 18 years has maybe chilled out my American Hypercritical Puritanism… Although I do think that it sounds like they gave a nice artistic touch to JT’s song, I do agree that the place and time weren’t quite appropriate. It’s a shame I didn’t watch the French national news to see if the information crossed the Atlantic! BUT rest assured, the over-reaction from the media and general America does make the rest of the world laugh at our nation! Seems like everyone needs to grow up! And, if I may add a domment to someone’s comments here: It is PARENTS responsability to teach their children right from wrong. Wouldn’t it be more human, more responsable, more intelligent that families across America – even across the world!- transmit & instill in our children an understanding of what is morally right and wrong??? Even though here in France women’s breasts are on billboards to sell yogurt, or on TV to sell soap, children must be taught the difference between an artistic demonstration on stage and the ripping of one’s clothes off wherever & whenever!!! DO YOU HEAR ME???
God bless America! but even moreso…
God bless WOMEN everywhere in this world!!!!
And, if I may… American women are one of the most opressed races in the world – think about it!
Ciao ciao 😉

Surely we are not expected to believe that someone who willingly emigrated to France has any concept of propriety. The Janet Jackson incident is certainly minor in comparison to many of the other things that we are exposed to. This in no way mitigates the fact that, whether you find our nation to be prudish or not, a major network subjugated the rights of parents to make an informed decision regarding what we let our children watch.
I realize that, in France, it is not considered indecent for a woman to expose her breasts. This issue highlights a cultural difference that exists. That difference is not, by nature, right or wrong.
If you cannot see the difference, try this. Search for instances in Japanese pornography where female pubic hair is exposed. If you find any, they will be few and far between. That is because, in their culture, it is considered to be taboo.
We can sit back and enjoy a good laugh together about the fact that it is acceptable to show the female sex organ but not pubic hair. That is because, in our culture, it sounds utterly ridiculous. I assure you that the Japanese will NOT see the levity in this.
Honestly, I have seen the "Real Sex" shows on HBO and I have seen the Playboy and Spice channels. But I am an adult.
I monitor those channels and I monitor what my children watch. Network television is not legally permitted to show this. Knowing this, I should, as a parent, have the right to feel comfortable in the knowledge that watching those channels will not present my children with those images.
If you see this as prudish, why not just set an open fifth of Jack Daniels on the Kitchen table along with a shot glass. Now, you and your spouse go have a nice night out.
Surely you have taught your teenagers well enough that they won’t touch it, right?

Surely we are not expected to believe that someone who willingly emigrated to France has any concept of propriety.
Surely you are not expecting anyone to take you seriously when you begin with such a catty and xenophobic remark?
#49 | Comment by Amy — February 7, 2004 @ 3:07 am
The intent was a barb specifically at France, not foreigners in general. With that said, I don’t really care about whether I am taken seriously — and quit calling me Shirley…LOL
#50 | Comment by tf — February 7, 2004 @ 10:28 pm
The only thing I can add to this list is, what is so wrong about a breast? We all sucked on one at one point in our live…It’s ok to show blood and aggression on tv, but what about the human body? And if it even looks good (she’s almost 40, i think), why the hell not show it? It’s not like the all got butt-naked and started having sex on stage…all you angry and sad americans need to grow up…
PS: Nice boob Janet. Always hoped to see that, after I saw the cover to her album "janet"…
