Ooooh new Michael Bay flick coming this summer. I think this is his first movie without Jerry Bruckheimer producing. Looks alright. It’s called The Island. Trailer doesn’t really tell you much about the plot. But that’s not such a bad thing. Because i HATE it when they practically give away the entire story or when they show ALL the money shots in the trailer.
Oh and did i mention that Scarlett Johansson’s in it?
Scar Jo in a Michael Bay action movie? Never thought i’d see that happen.
Will it be the biggest movie of 2005? Probably not. That honor is definitely going to War of the Worlds. There is no way that this movie won’t bank. It’s going to be the movie event of the summer for sure. And look! Dakota Fanning’s in it! She looks a little older here than she did in Hide and Seek (God that movie sucked). I still think she’s a superior intelligent being (read: alien) in a child’s body though.
Finally, there’s Red Eye. From Wes Craven. Starring Mean Girl/Hot Chick Rachel McAdams. This movie looks a HELL of a lot better than that Cursed flick (also from Wes Craven, but i blame Miramax’s tinkering for it’s major suckage). Speaking of Rachel McAdams, i really need to get The Notebook on DVD someday. I’ve heard good things about it.
Coincidently, all three of these movies are from Dreamworks. Very nice lineup.
I don’t know about all this other shit, I’m just waiting for batman.

War of the worlds looks pretty cool. But i’m confident that the new Star Wars will be the biggest movie of the year.

did you hear what george recently said about the new star wars?
“This one’s a little bit more emotional. We like to describe it as ‘Titanic’ in space. It’s a tearjerker.”
TITANIC IS SPACE?!?!!
i’d buy that for a dollar!

describing it as ‘Titanic’ in space makes me want to vomit.

Where’s Leo? Wait, he’s frozen dead on the bottom of the ocean.

He probably had dollar signs in his eyes when he made that comparison.
“I like money.”

I doubt I’ll see any of these. I’m going to limit my summer blockbuster viewings to Star Wars and The Hitchhiker’s Guide.

The Hitchhiker’s Guide comes out in April. Summer blockbuster.

Late April. Besides, summer blockbuster is a genre.

My money will be going to Star Wars and Hitchhiker’s Guide, maybe Batman too.

May is typically the launch of the “summer” blockbuster movies. Hitchhiker’s is getting an early jump on the summer season.
I saw The Ring Two … meh. It was alright, I suppose. I found it kinda boring. But I did see the Red Eye trailer, and it didn’t really do anything for me. As far as scary movies are concerned, I’m more interested in seeing the Amityville remake. The trailer looks really good.

New Amityville with Ryan Reynolds will own… regardless of how much a movie sucks, Reynolds always makes it worth the venture…
Tops of my “upcoming” movie list right now is Sin City… although I still wouldn’t mind going to see “Hostage” (didn’t make it to “Constantine”)… and of course my most looked forward to summer blockbuster is FF… does “Serentity” count? (most of september is still officially summer… meh).

You ruined the trailers for The Island and Red Eye for me. I watched both at home earlier today, then when I went to see The Ring Two in theaters they played both and I already knew what it was about.
In other news, The Ring Two sucks.

I definitely will be seeing War of the Worlds. I guess I’ll go see the Star Wars too, hopefully it doesn’t suck and I really hope its not all emo.
