Currently using a RAZR. Don’t like Nokias. Not really into 3G. Could care less about overall sexiness or form factor. But i don’t want a fat ugly American-y flip phone either, like that thing Katherine Heigl is holding.
Leaning towards getting either one of these:
Sony Ericsson w800i
Sony Ericsson w900i
Sony Ericsson p910i
Probably by tomorrow or this weekend. Will likely get a p910i in the end though. Unless anybody can convince me otherwise.
Would wait for the p990i which comes out in March 06 but it’ll probably be super duper wallet busting expensive, plus i don’t really need/want any 3G crap (though it is, overall, remarkably improved over the p910i, 3G notwithstanding).
So yeah.
Oh. The w900i – i’m only considering it because it’s the latest thing out.
But if i really had to choose one out of the three, it’ll probably be a battle between the w800i and the p910i, only because they’re in the same price range.
The w900i costs like an arm and a leg right now.

w800i is a great phone…decent camera in case u wanna use it and the audio quality is awesome…

Mate, dont get the sony W800i; the joystick is f-u-c-k-e-d. I have the new samsung D608 works like magic, battery life is great, really quick, it has space for expansion, does everything. But if you are looking for a phone that will be able to do everything you can possible think of, go for the sony p910i, but if you are willing to wait you should and get the newer version that will come out. If you go for the p910 you have to have some $$$$ because out of all 3 phones its the most expensive. If you dont have the $$$ the W900i seems a good choice. The new version of the p910i i think is the p930 or something, but I do remember seeing something about the phone being updated in the near future. The p910 is pretty good, alot better than the p900 which I had for a while, and traded in because it had a tendancy to destroy itself. If you get the p910 or the P930(whatever the new model will be called, be prepared to fork out for a sony ms-duo memory stick, otherwise all the other functionality of the phone goes to sh*t. There is plenty of symbian os software that is already cracked on the net. The best site I came across when I had my p900 was xxx://sep800.mine.nu/, another good feature of the p910 is that it will run all the software from the previous p800. To run videos on the p910 you will need to convert them using Mepegable X4 live. Overall ruling – P910i best choice, but you need to buy a memory stick.

The W800i kicks ass, I’ve had mine for 4 months and the joystick works perfectly.
Sound is excellent, upgradeable memory to 2gb and the camera quality is great.

Hey, you should think about the sony k750. It’s the exact same phone as the w800, but doesn’t look as fruity. The main difference between the two is that the w800 can boot up either as an audio player only, or a cell phone… but if you want to use the cell phone, you have to reboot it. Yuck. Also, the w800 package comes with a 512mb card, but you can always get one for the k750 later.
If you really like the w800 interface, though, you can upgrade the k750’s firmware to it. There are a bunch of tutorials on this, or you could always pay someone to do it.

I had a moto a1000 (same software and style as the p900i) and it was awful. Hard to text quickly, and I was always worried about scratching or breaking the screen whenever I took the phone out.

I have a Treo 650 right now, and I think I’ll wait for the new Treo that runs Windows Mobile, either that or the LG VX9800.

I’ve got the W800i. I love it. For whatever reason, SonyEricsson let it play AAC files so I didn’t have to convert back to MP3. You can use whatever songs you want for ringtones. The camera is good in decent lighting. Haven’t seen what the 900 has over it though. No real downside to the W800i.

Don’t support Sony; it’s the devil. Also, screw iTunes; it’s overrated. Besides, it’s too expensive to put a lot of storage capacity on a cell phone, so any iTunes is either going to hold very few songs or require you to carry around memory cards to hold your music. Plus, you can’t expect awesome sound quality from a cellphone. Verdict: mp3 player phones are teh dumb.
I have a Sanyo MM-8300. It doesn’t have any really cool features, but it works well. Since I have no friends, I don’t drain the battery enough to comment on battery life. Samsung has a new phone out that kind of looks like the Razr.

Yeah, the thumb stick thingy on my friends Sony Ericsson has crapped out. So have some others.
But I’m sure Justin has small, girlish hands that won’t be straining the phone too much. So it should be okay.
Don’t like the C button on Sony Ericssons. It’s like they WANT you to delete stuff…
Look about for the top of the line phones on the market a while back. That’s how to save money and still get great features.
That’s why I ended up just getting a D500. Not perfect, but I’m happy with £6 a month, for 1200 free mins anytime cross network, plus 70 texts.
Yes it’s a great deal.
I love to brag about it.

I use a K750 and I’m quite satisfied with it. Got an extra 1GB mem stick for it, though. I don’t like the color on the W800. And since I really don’t use the walkman bit I don’t want the W900 either. So I’m going to wait until the next K-version is released before updating.

Get Samsung D600, well personally I don’t have one but I do have D500. Very good quality and loves the slider form factor.
But if I have to choose the between SE W800i W900i and P910i, I would go for for P910i but P990i would be nice also.

The w800i is probably the best phone Ive ever used. Ive used the new Nokia business range phones (6260 etc. ), and this one is loads better. The camera is gr8 and the sound quality on the walkman feature is excellent, this phone sounds as good as my actual walkman. With 512 mb memory it holds as many cds as Im gonna need. So basically its a great phone with excellent features.

hey, ive got the w800i (had it for a few months) and its awesome. ive not really had any problems with it.
the camera is great, 2mp but the video is a bit average.
the sound rocks and the headphones are awesome considering they come out of the box. probably the best pair of headphones ive got at the moment.
you can transfer heaps of stuff from the pc to the phone and vice versa. better than ive seen on samsung, nokia and motorola.
your requirements may be different to mine but this phone ticked every box for my requirements.

Im using a P810 at the moment, I upgraded my phone (with T-mobile) to a SE W800 and went back to my P810 within a couple of weeks. I just love my P810 to bits (not enough to fap over mind)
Once you get over the size of the handset the features etc. are fantastic and piece of p!ss to use.
Software etc. may be a bit dated as SE kinda abandoned it a little to work on the 990.
My plan is to nurse this baby through until P990 becomes affordable.

i got 2 phones right now… p910i and nokia 6260… p910i is nice… i heard from my frnds that it gets fckd up easily.. bt mine still works like new and i had it a yr already. btw if ur clumsy w/phones dnt get p910i.. Dude, I own a 910i, it’s flashy but when you try to fit it into a pair of fitted jeans it’s kind of like you’re trying to compensate for something with that huge phone in your pocket. If you want to do with your phone things that no one else can (3d games ona big screen, lots of programs, wireless internet) go for it!
But, if you don’t want something that takes up half the realestate in your pants get something else!
