I’M GOING TO TEH MOVIEHS

I got a ticket to see Transformers tonight. Huzzah!

Would’ve gotten one more ticket for my fiancée but can you believe it she DOESN’T WANT TO WATCH what’s only like, THE BIGGEST MOVIE OF THE SUMMER. She flat out refused. Says she was never interested in Transformers or giant robots. I said “But there’s human drama in there too!!!” Still didn’t want to. She sucks so much.

Managed to get her to go see Die Hard 4.0 with me though. Hence the two tickets. But that’ll be tomorrow night. Tonight, it’s Transformers!

Anybody who’s seen these two movies please post your thoughts in the comments.

  1. First?!
Live Free or Die Hard = Kick Ass.
Great acting, great action, and great hotness of Mary Elizabeth Winstead.

  5. You both have terrible taste in movies.

Did you also watch Rise of the Silver Surfer?

Good luck to you two, yippie-kai-yay-melon-farmer!

  6. #4 – All I can think of is the Entourage episode where Vince finds out Michael Bay and not James Cameron is doing Aquaman 2. It makes me not want to see a Michael Bay movie ever.

  7. michael bay is fucking awesome. i would totally have his babies.

there’s a reason the rock and armageddon are part of the criterion collection! because they’re fucking awesome movies and bay is a fucking awesome director!!

  10. wait dude, is that the Brunei empire theatre? i’ve watch it already, first 12.10pm at show! FUCKING AWESOME! and long…BUT FUCKING AWESOME!!!! Man was i so hyped about it.

What i thought of transformers? well the ending was abit corny-ish but it does relates lightly to the cartoon. i dont really wanna spoil it but it was worth it! im watching it twice! or maybe three times!!! FUCK, the movie was so good i thought i gave out orgasm during the first fight scene!!!

What i didnt like was it drags alittle bit from the start and pace up quite fast towards the end…. it bothered me alittle but overall, verdict: A+ i might be bias as i am a transformers fan….

    “Autobots, roll out! bitches!”

  11. oh yea, i liked it when they used the old transforming sounds from the cartoon to the movie. That was good, effects and cgi – best so far.

  12. Mary Elizabeth Winstead is hot. I’d go see Die Hard 10x if she’s naked in every scene.

    Or, maybe just one.

I thought every hot actress was required to put out a homemade sex tape, but I haven’t seen one from Winstead. What the hell? The public demands one!!!

  13. Michael Bay career post Armageddon (1998) has been terrible. Bad Boys 2 was decent for what its meant to do, but the only thing I liked of his was The Island(but they fucked up the ending). Failed miserably in the box office.

Pearl Harbor, Amittyville Horror, The Hitcher. Not worth the film it was recorded on.

  15. the movie was awesome..sucks that they had to kill off Jazz tho..but thats the rules, always kill off the black robot

    #15 | Comment by def — June 28, 2007 @ 1:46 pm

  16. “…always kill off the black robot”

    i seriously loled at that!!

just got back from the movie. those of you who’re gonna watch it, turn off your brain! do not expect realism from a movie that has giant alien robots in it and you’ll have a good time!

ps: megan fox is such a bitchface. i love bitchfaces.

  17. #10, yup, the empire theatre in jerudong

i got chills watching this movie. loved the little homages and in jokes.

wondering what the toy line will look like. those things are probably gonna be hard as hell to transform…

  19. They should make a sequel based on Beast Wars. Optimus Primal….MAXIMIZE!

  20. I just got back from watching Transformers. I thought it was fantastic! I had to sit in the second row, so it was really hard to focus on anything during the fight scenes. I couldn’t tell what the fuck was going on, which probably just added to it’s awesomeness.

    #20 | Comment by d0rp — June 29, 2007 @ 12:00 am

  21. no hamsters but i do have two cats!!!!!!!!!!

i make it a point to never watch any movie unless i can get a seat somewhere in or near the back row and right down the middle.

anything closer or way off to the sides and no deal!! you can’t see shit for shit if you’re too up close. fucked up AR if you’re too far down the sides.

  23. I was just wondering. Who honestly didn’t laugh when Bumblebee ‘lubricated’ the sector 7 agent? Also, who didn’t laugh when the fat kid said “This is totally better than Armageddon!” because the theatre I watched it in all laughed except like 2 people who apparently were press. We all also laughed at the black guy who yelled “MAN THAT’S RACIST!” when Jazz got killed, but I think that was one of those incidental times where you don’t get mad at a person for talking if they actually say something funny.

Haven’t seen Die Hard yet, but plan to. Has anyone else noticed a trend in Hollywood? Fat funny guys are now cast as hackers or computer geniuses of some type. Anthony Anderson in Transformers. Kevin Smith in Die Hard. Seems a strange way to go considering the typical way of Hollywood.

  24. I love the “Die Hard” films!! I really liked the new one, “Live Free or Die Hard” here!! I thought the action scenes were Awesome! I think it lost a little steam toward the end!! But, otherwise, one of the Best Movies I’ve seen this Year (so far). 🙂

  25. I have and always will love Transformers (not the Beast war or mini crap) but I cringe everytime that I think about this movie. People I hate are in it and Optimus Prime has flames!?!?!?

    #25 | Comment by thefilthelement — June 29, 2007 @ 11:49 am

  26. Die Hard was pretty good – but I still think “with a vengeance” is the best of the franchise.

I got advance tickets for Transformers for TODAY (Friday), but I have to work until midnight – So I’ll end up seeing it July 4th.

    Lose.

  28. #27- Amen, brother! I ain’t going to the theater to see a Disney Channel version of Die Hard. I still remember getting blown through the back wall of the theater in 1988. 😉

  29. I just mistrust Bay sooo much. I cannot believe how anyone can screw up Pearl Fucking Harbor. In so many ways.

    you speak the truth.

  31. I saw Transformers on Tues. It was better than I expected, but it just wasn’t the TRANSFORMERS.

    Story:ok, Action:good, effects and CG:great.

But if you slapped the name GOBOTS on it, it would be the same movie. The charm and characteristics of the original series robot designs were replaced by interchangeable and generic robots in this movie. If it wasn’t for Prime having the same voice as the original, this wouldn’t have felt like a Transformers movie in the least.

Doesn’t surprise me when Michael Bay originally turned down directing the movie saying “it’s a stupid toy movie”. But Dreamworks wanted him on it so bad, they convinced him, and sent him to “Transformers bootcamp”. Great. Get a guy who didn’t even LIKE the original series to make this film!

In the end, it will do ok with people who aren’t hardcore TransFans and children who don’t have any emotional ties to the original series. It’s still an action packed movie with a bunch of robots fighting (when they were on screen… the movie is 90% about the humans)

It’s just not a TRANSFORMERS movie.
