Just saw Kick-Ass today. This movie is going to turn a lot of people into pedos, thanks to the genius Killer Loli melding of Stephanie from Lazytown and Mathilda from The Professional.
Verdict: Two thumbs up! Can’t wait for the extended cut on Blu-ray.
So what did everybody think of the movie? They should have just called it Hit-Girl instead of Kick-Ass because Hit-Girl totally stole the show.
I loved it! Chloe and Nic Cage were the best part of the movie and they just lit up the screen whenever they were on.
I wish the movie was more about them because it was amazing. Chloe’s one-liners were probably the best part and they become instantly quotable!

Wouldn’t surprise me if they didn’t do a Hit-Gorl film as everyone I’ve spoken to about feel that her & big daddy were the strongest characters!!
#2 | Comment by Phynix — April 18, 2010 @ 11:08 am
It was not a disappointment. Loved it.
And yeah, I was already peadobear-interested in Hit-Girl and seeing her on screen only intensified it. Now I not only have to get my girlfriend a purple wig and a mask, but getting her to shave her cunt again is going to take some work once she knows what’s up.

Hit-Girl & Big Daddy were basically the stars of the comic (after issue 2), and the movie was faithful to the comic, so this is no surprise. Kick-Ass basically got the shit beat out of him constantly.
Also, I enjoyed the movie. It wasn’t anything new or amazing, but it was a lot of fun.

I’ll have to wait until tomorrow to see it, but absolutely sure I will love it just like the books.

Hit-Girl was DEFIANTLY the highlight of the movie.. and not in some creepy way >_>

Damn, that purple wig is hot! I need to make sure I don’t start fapping in the theater (don’t want a Pee Wee Herman situation to ensue).

If I can bring a slightly rational note to all of this, It surprised me what a good little actress Chloe Moretz is. When she was upset or angry you really felt it.

She was the only one who didn’t deserve a punch in the face on 500 days of Summer.
And after this she is now filming the US version of “Let the right one in”!

saw kick-ass…and well, it was kick ass. definitely gonna be a lot of loli stuff on the web about that girl…although, for me, she needs to keep the mask and wig on.
#12 | Comment by Xan — April 18, 2010 @ 6:54 pm
“Great movie, definitely pedo bait. I think Kick Ass was a great character, embodying a sense of justice I applaud, unlike even many superheroes. It’s easy to stand up for people when bullets don’t hurt you and you can punch someone’s face into their anus. However, it takes balls to costume up, no training, no strength, just a sense of right, and take a fucking stabbing.”
“Also, give me a nerdy, awkward speech about helping and protecting even a stranger against all odds; over a self-righteous lecture about evil, any day of the week.”
#13 | Comment by Ryuka — April 18, 2010 @ 7:06 pm
Movie was quite good but I thought they showed all the good action scenes in the various trailers around the web. Not as slapsticky as I thought it might have turned out(or turned into), which was good.
Definitely would have been a better movie if it was more Big Daddy & Hit-Girl. The Kick-Ass/Dave parts just sort of ran out of steam in the middle.

yeah, kick-ass kicked ass… I was painfully aware of just how young chloe is and as much as keep thinking, nope, too young.. bad thoughts entered my head.

I saw Kickass on the weekend. Awesome movie. Hit Girl was definitely the star of the movie, IMO.
#21 | Comment by Marty McFly — April 19, 2010 @ 9:51 am
Well Hit Girl was pretty much the only true hero on the screen. Ass Kicked pretty much failed but kept coming back for me so props there. I kept getting a Peter Parker/Spiderman vibe about him, without the Spiderman powers. I wonder how many real life vigilantes this might generate. Watchmen was pretty similar without all of them having real powers.
#22 | Comment by acptboy — April 19, 2010 @ 3:17 pm
“That was sort of the point of Watchmen too, except that they were still relatively unrealistic. I mean, Nite Owl was no more reasonable than Batman, and Dr. Manhattan was a reality bender, essentially. Ozymandias had a ‘power’, it was just a relatively realistic power.”
“Also, how was Big Daddy not a hero just as much as Hit Girl? If it had to do with his motivations, Hit Girl ended up doing it all for vengeance, too. If it had to do with his dying, try thinking straight while burning to death.”

Little Chloe is a spectacular talent. I only hope (As we all should) that she doesn’t end up like Lyndsay.
Also, Kinda hoping the Kick-ass comic sequel brings back Hit girl and the movie makes enough to warrant a sequel.

Ryuka, I used the qualifier “pretty much” partially because I didn’t want to give away the entire story plot. And, well, I know superheroes aren’t supposed to be realistic. That’s what makes it fun.
Anyway, it’s a fun movie overall and not as moody as some other superhero flicks with still a lot of blood and fightin’.

“Notably, I thought to cover it up, but I can’t delete my comment and repost, or I would have.”
#33 | Comment by Ryuka — April 20, 2010 @ 6:21 pm
“Also @28, how does noting Big Daddy as a ‘true hero’ give away anything more than it does to note Hit Girl as one? The last part of my comment did give something away, but you didn’t support your point anyway, so you needn’t have said anything like that.”
“Also, the spoiler isn’t that major, I learned about that just looking it up a little, it didn’t ruin the movie a bit. In fact, knowing the entire plot, doesn’t ruin the movie. The plot is relatively predictable, it’s the shit that gets the plot to the end that makes the movie worth it.”
#34 | Comment by Ryuka — April 20, 2010 @ 6:26 pm
I knew about the [spoiler] after seeing the trailer, it was pretty obvious.

#23: Nic Cage gets burned to death?
Well how the fuck am I supposed to watch the movie now? I’ll just be waiting for Yuri Orlov to get incinerated.
This is even worse than the time I was about to read Pride and Prejudice and a friend told me Lizzie dies of AIDS.

@39: When I first read your comment, I was thinking “Well, she’s 13, how many movies could she have been in?”. Then I went and checked her IMDB Page and found she has like 30 credits in the last 6 years. Damn kid works hard.

@44: You attempt to portray yourself as some utterly pretentious, Schadenfreude-loving pseudo-intellectual, yet you are too stupid to realize #43 was addressing ME? PRICELESS! Apparently your ridiculous overuse of quotation marks has made you unable to realize when they are correctly used – i.e., when someone is being quoted.
@43: I can’t help it. I read so quickly that I essentially absorb an entire page all at once, so I’ve gotta take the good with the bad. Plus, this newfag Ryuka’s comments amuse – rather than annoy – me.

I just saw the movie, loved it, I can see why this movie would turn people into pedos, Hit Girl was a kick ass character. LOL
#48 | Comment by Whittaker — April 28, 2010 @ 2:19 am
“Turn into pedos?”
What exactly do you mean? This girl is 13, or in puberty, and capable of having children. Thinking about her in a sexual way has nothing to do with pedophilia, just because of this.
#49 | Comment by NoNae — May 23, 2010 @ 12:14 pm
“In the movie, she’s 11. However, I don’t disagree, currently, she’s pubescent and very pretty, can’t say there’s anything wrong with that.
#50 | Comment by Ryuka — May 24, 2010 @ 4:58 am
Saw the movie. The violence was far too graphic for my tastes(slicing off limbs, blood and brains poppin’ all over), so I pretty much just focused on her. 😛 I’d say you could try oral to shut up her swearing, but then, she’d probably just bite it off. Also, she probably wouldn’t wind up like Lindsay, heard her parents are super strict and she’s a really good girl at home.
