I suggest we organize UN sanctioned inspection teams to rid the Canadian menace of their advanced VS bras. Who knows what horrible uses the Canadian women may find for them?!?! The inspections shall be long and rigourous.

  38. Well, Kingolf, you’re entitled to your opinion. Even, if the sole reason for you being able to express it freely, is because ten’s of thousands of Americans gave their lives to prevent Hitler from annexing all of Europe and making german the official language. The french certainly didn’t lift a finger to prevent him from doing anything. Nice to see that some things don’t seem to change.

If you U.S., so someone from your neck of the woods being supportive is very well thought of.

  42. Kingolf-

I think it is a great story. The store owner is raising awareness on a valid point.

Is he ‘wrong’ for banning Germans and French from his store? Technically sure, but as far as that goes the guy is only hurting his own sales not really causing germans and french to be discriminated against.

Instead, he makes a great point. Since you ARE a foreigner, here is something you might not be aware of. The vast majority of Americans that I know and talk with: ALL my family, ALL my friends, ALL my co-workers. We ALL feel one thing: Why do we ALWAYS have to stop injustices occuring in other countries when we have so many of our OWN problems. And worse yet, why does the vast majority of ‘nations’ hate America so badly for doing it? France, Germany, any middle-eastern country, any south east asian country, etc?

The reason we keep getting involved is, it is the ‘right’ and ‘humane’ thing to do. I am not saying that America is morally superior to any other nation. I am also not saying that America doesn’t make its own share of mistakes. Our government is amazing at cover-up. Yet, as a SPECIES I think we have an obligation to stop oppression wherever it occurs on a mass scale anywhere on our planet.

Here are two news stories I listened to recently:

    1) a greek citizen was used as a ‘human shield’ by Saddam Hussein back in 1991. He and about 250 other ‘guests’ were arrested and held prisoner for 5 months along with hundreds of women and children of Iraq and placed at military installations during the first Gulf War in the hopes of stopping the UN attacks against those installations.

    2) a Iraqi women who escaped Iraq a few years ago was on CNN telling of when her husband was shot in front of her and her children for protesting their governments actions. Her husband was shot by Iraqi soldiers. After he died, they grabbed the women and did not release her until she paid for all of the bullets used to murder her husband.

Should America get involved? Or should America do what we did for the beginning years of World War I and World War II which was say ‘not our borders, not our problem?’

As a foreigner, I am really interested to hear whether you think America should liberate oppressed foreigners. I’ll also ask you what state was your country in 70 years ago.

    On a different subject:

Does anyone think there should be a national vote to see how favored war is in this country?

All of our anti war rallies are only egging on that asshole we call "W". I say he should stop trying to clean up after his daddy, who failed at this task years ago. And one more point… What if Saddam dissappears in a month like Osama did? would we simply not know what to do and leave them alone?

  48. Not our borders, not our problem.

I really wish we would go and be like that. No one likes us anyway. I don’t claim to know France’s or Germany’s motives for anything, I’m not French or German. Perhaps Eve will give us some insight on that, but I doubt she should, because this isn’t an a real argument, everyone’s already convinced that they are right and will not be unconvinced.

    This is "enlightened" flaming.

I think it’s cool that this shopowner supports us, if only for the novelty of a non-U.S., U.S. supporter. But check back later, he will either have been ordered to allow French and Germans in his shops, or he will have been killed.

We helped out France in WWII, but does that mean they owe us forever? I don’t think that they are obligated to support us. I wonder if the fact that France used to be such a great military power doesn’t sour their perceptions of everything else, though. It probably stings to be thought of as "the surrender monkeys". France might resent us for what we think they are supposed to be thankful for.

    We’re all doomed.

    The Dragon-

No. The country should not be run by popular opinion polls. It should be run by leaders with knowledge, foresight and direction. I sincerly hope to god that George W has information that is kept confidental and should stay so.

That was out of line, kid. If you’re going to fly off the handle and wildly bash a country you have never been to and essentially all of its citizens, the majority of whom did not even VOTE for the current government, a large portion of whom disagree with past policies, politicians, etc… then you are more intolerant than the worst KKK member, and I will delete every goddamn post, comment, thread, etc. that I find from you. If you want to debate, go ahead. If you’re going to fling wild accusations, then nuh-uh. Not gonna happen.

"Congratulations, you’ve made me one step closer to start a career as a suicide bomber." – Congratulations, that statement officially made you ignorant. Continue with your distasteful prejudice, wild accusations of belonging to a racist organization, and the rest of the crap I’ve seen you flinging around willy-nilly in this thread, and I will make it my personal mission to eradicate every comment, thread, and post you have ever made on FUBAR, you obsessive little boy.

  64. SMASH –

I would love to hear which part of my statements you disagree with. If you’re referring to the comments I made to KINGOLF (Danish for KING OF ALL IDIOTS), then quite frankly you should read the thread closer to see who calls who, what, first. Also note, that he never answered a single one of your initial questions.

    KINGOLF –

" Fucking nationalist fanatic. "? Read my posts, idiot. I’m stating simple historical facts. Something you seem to know very little of.

"British and French troops took the brunt of D-day."

Sure. You should become a historian. According to the Encyclopedia Britannica, here are a few tidbits.

    U.S. 407,318 Military Casualties
    U.K. 264,443 Military Casualties
    FRANCE 213,324 Military Casualties

    DENMARK 1,800 Military Casualties

Keep in mind that we didn’t enter the war until later, so we lost more men in a shorter amount of time. So it would seem we’ve taken the "brunt" of it… I don’t recall the French storming the beaches of Normandy.

" So you Americans think all Germans and French should be harassed ans discriminated?"

I think all Germans and French should respect their NATO commitments. So I appreciate the stand Mr. Bjerre is making on our behalf.

"I hate McDonalds fucking horsemeat. I have never worn a pair of levis’, and US movies generally suck."

Not that I believe a single word of that sentence. But quite frankly, I don’t give a crap if you run around naked in Denmark, and eat snow all day. You’re missing the point. You are FREE to do as you wish, and that is only because countless men (including 407,318 Americans) gave their lives so you would be able to exercise your freedom of speech, instead of speaking German, reading "Mein Kampf", and reciting nazi propaganda.

    Get it?

"You have done exactly NOTHING for me."

You’re right. I haven’t. But 407,318 Americans have. After reading your deeply intellectual posts, and given the choice, I personally wouldn’t lift a finger in the future to fight for your rights. I am sick of a single American giving his/her life for a ungrateful little snot like you. Either today, or a hundred years from now.

"Congratulations, you’ve made me one step closer to start a career as a suicide bomber."

Considering the limited mental faculties you possess, this might be the only career available to you.

"It’s people like YOU that makes UN the most hated country in the world."

Uh. The United Nations [UN] is not a country. It’s an organization. Assuming that you meant to say the US, I’d like to thank you for making the point I was trying to make earlier,

" For those of you that are Americans, and don’t realize that most of the idiots we’re constantly trying to save (including morons like kingolf) have nothing but contempt for us for doing so. So seeing a NON-American taking a stand on foreign soil, by putting his own livelihood/income on the line is that much more impressive."

In light of the attitudes of some (as Kingolf is certainly representative of a large segment of the people in Europe), this is the exact reason why I find the stand that Mr. Bjerre is taking so extraordinary.

    THESS –

I ignored making the points you already made. They are self-explanatory. I would like to know at which point my statements are nationalistic. I’d rather not be the "kettle" to Kingolfs "pot".

Lastly, here’s my view on events in a very brief way.

I don’t want war. No one EVER wants war. However, sometimes you are left with no other choice. This may be such a case. Inspections are a farce. 12 years ago they may have worked, if only, under the most precarious conditions. Here’s a few facts. The UN inspectors number at about 100 as of right now (they are hoping to increase this number to about 300 by mid-year). They drive in BIG WHITE JEEPS with big BLACK LETTERS marked UN, minded by IRAQI translators and Government officials, looking for the proverbial needle in a haystack. According to one of the highest ranking Iraqi defectors, (Hussein Kamel – who later was killed by Saddam), the Iraqis kept one step ahead of the UN inspectors by using the translators as spies for Iraq, before they were all thrown out 4 years ago. Even when you could assume that the inspectors could move completely unhindered, there is still the problem of the pure logistical challenge any inspection team faces. Lets be realistic here. There’s 100 of them in a country that’s 437,072 sq km. Think about that. That’s literally worse than looking for a needle in a haystack. These things could be easily hidden in some underground bunker with a single entrance (which would be very well hidden) and 1000 guys wouldn’t be able to find it, if it was hidden on 100 sq km. The problem is that if you have leadership that is willing (as Saddam has used chemical weapons on his own kurds), and actively pursuing weapons of mass destruction (as stated by Hussein Kamel), it is a very high likelihood that he will use them once he has them.

Keep in mind that the question of him having or not having weapons of mass destruction isn’t even up for discussion. The UN agrees that weapons of mass destruction should not be in the hands of Saddam. The only disagreement that seems to be here, is that the French and Germans believe that inspections will work, or that Saddam will just change his mind.

I don’t think inspections work for the reasons stated above. And given Saddam’s past record, I doubt he’s going to change his tune any time soon.

I could care less if half a millin Americans died 50 years ago.

    Actually, that’s a lie. I couldn’t care less.

The US have got nuclear weapons, and with Bush in charge, they’re just as dangerous as Saddam.
How come they have more right to have nuclear weapons than the rest of us have?

  70. Actually, you bring up a good point. B(.)(.)BS Rule 4Ever!!!!!

  71. I’m with Kingolf on this one. PrettyBoyFloyd does state good facts, but you make it sound as if america is the greatest country on earth and as if everyone is supposed to love you. theres a reason that so many people in the world hate americans, and thats that american attitude of yours.

    #71 | Comment by Ikke — February 27, 2003 @ 4:19 pm

  72. And actually, because they rule so much, we should again begin talking about B(.)(.)BS. You just can’t go wrong talking about them, looking at them, playing with them, doing anything and everything with them. What does everyone else think?

    #72 | Comment by (the)Chad — February 27, 2003 @ 4:21 pm

  73. American attitude?!?! I thought Avril had Canadian boobs? What’s wrong with talking about Canadian boobs? They’re not American boobs.

    #73 | Comment by grud — February 27, 2003 @ 4:23 pm

  74. and by the way, are you forgetting about the british? if it weren’t for them, americans would not have even made it to nazi territory.

    #74 | Comment by Ikke — February 27, 2003 @ 4:24 pm

  75. Ok……how about British boobs?

  76. dude. where are these massive boobies everyone mentioned in the beginning?

It is called a water / padded bra – whichever it is that the lovely little Cousin It prefers to wear – and I’m going to guess shes a 34 A.

    #76 | Comment by Susan — February 27, 2003 @ 4:41 pm

  77. The massive boobies are derived from a mathematical formula.

Short Girl + Skinny Body/Smart Bra Technology=Harder to pin cup size.

I’d like to get some NASA engineers to examine the latest Avril video for their assessment.

No. The country should not be run by popular opinion polls. It should be run by leaders with knowledge, foresight and direction. I sincerly hope to god that George W has information that is kept confidental and should stay so.

If I had secret info about the dog population in the U.S planning on rebelling and killing us all, you are saying I have the right to go and kill all the dogs and never have to tell anyone why?

    what are you German?
    ———-

Dragon. Your comparison is unrelated in any way. Unless you do have first-hand knowledge that I don’t. I don’t believe the government is planning to ‘kill all the’ iraqi citizens.

As for running the country by popular opinion polls, think about it. You want the same population that dialed in and voted Justin Guarini into second place on American Idol and the same population that LIKES going on Jerry Springer with their friends and family to run the country by their whims of the moment???

Here’s a fact that might make you second guess your own statement. In Time Magazine 2nd week of October 2001, 89% of Americans (according to a Gallup poll) WANTED TO GO TO WAR WITH IRAQ.

So, by your own statement, we should already have gone to war with them.

  83. I say again, how the hell did you guys get off on this tangent and away from the all consuming quest for boobs? A bitch smacking is begged for.

Call Imus or watch fucking Hardball if you want to talk about the militarization of American foreign policy. This is about Boobs people. If we American’s were really right thinking, we’d be against all war for the preservation of boobs.

    #83 | Comment by grud — February 28, 2003 @ 5:36 am

  84. So tell me o violent ones. Does this make Avril an Iraqi if you want to smack her about as well? Stomp out violence once and for all. Kill everything! Oh, sorry George…You were saying?

    #84 | Comment by Phil — February 28, 2003 @ 12:03 pm

  85. All this idealistic bullshit just doesn’t work with war. War is ugly and selfish. The French and Germans are doing what any country would do, look out for their own interests first. Remember, we didn’t enter either one of the previous world wars until we had a "personal" attachment (i.e. Pearl Harbor) and that’s what it’ll take for the rest of the world. As for most of the smaller countries that are aiding us now its largely due to the money factor (i.e. Turkey). There are no ideals here, there is no "good v evil" : it is business as usual. We need oil. We don’t want to lose too many votes due environmentalists so rather than open up Alaska we attack a vulnerable country with huge oil reserves. As far as cleaner fuels and all that other crap, give it up.
We are a militaristic power and tanks don’t run on solar panels or hydro-electricity.
