KONG IS KING

Don’t forget to tune in to your local NBC TV station tonight. They’ll be airing that 150 second spot for Peter Jackson’s King Kong remake, due out this December. I believe it’s going to start at 8:59:30pm EST and conclude at 9:02:00. Of course, it’ll probably be uploaded online like, right after it ends. And if you’d like to see the trailer on the big screen, you can catch it right before War of the Worlds when it opens this Wednesday. Dakota Fanning! YAY!

Update:

Here’s the trailer! In GLORIOUS Quicktime.

  2. p.s,

according to the word on imdb, even dakota’s not going to be able to save the aura of suck that is WOTW. but who knows? maybe it’ll be awesome! or not…

  3. I know it’s some ways off still, but a really cool extra feature for the King Kong DVD would be a time-lapse morph of Peter Jackson’s weight loss.

I have NO interest in seeing WOTW.

  5. excellent post

I didn’t see the King Kong spot … I was watching Batman Begins for a second time on the IMAX screen. I would have taped it, had I read this post before leaving for Irvine. Oh well.

  10. In the movie Kong is naked. In the movie Kong is climbing all over buildings. The question is will we see King Kong’s Dong and will he use it as a weapon?

  16. Looks pretty cool. Two nits: 1) It might have given away too much–for instance, the first time they hear Kong’s roar would have been really funny in a theatre full of people. 2) Looks like it was made out of the spare parts of other movies. “Mix Titanic and Jurassic Park, add a pinch of Kong…”

  17. Looks good, hope it doesn’t suck. But why did they have to use the t-rex from Jurassic Park?

  18. pretty dull coming from PJ. No tension and as #16 said gave too much away. In fact Kong looked pretty small and not very menacing next to the T-rex. More like Prince Kong. Hahahaha … ha aaahhh.

It didn’t even have the gravelly movie voice over guy saying stuff like “… in the depths of the jungle lives a force of nature a shmillion years old … and he wants girls! Rooaarrrr! etc.”
