So wait…

That was it for season 2 of Entourage? I didn’t even realize it was the last episode. But i should’ve known considering how they ended the first season right before the shooting of Vince’s new movie started. And you know, it just dawned on me that Aquaman is being directed by James Cameron. Because, you know, it is another water movie (The Abyss, Titanic anyone?). And i think we all know how incredibly tough production can be on water movies. Just watch the documentary on the Abyss DVD. And let’s not forget Waterworld. But speaking of DVD, i cannot wait for this to come out. I think i might just wet my vagina the day it’s released.

That said, it’s good that Entourage went for 14 episodes this year. Apparently it’s gonna go on for even longer next year. Maybe even a real full season? I’m not sure what to think of these 6 – 13 episode season formats. Like some shows are so good you just want them to go on for the whole 24 – 25 season episodes. But i guess it’s a good idea nowadays to launch shows with like a 6 episode first season (ala The Office) and if it works, you slowly give them more episodes for the next (ala Entourage). That way there won’t be any more heartbreaking Firefly/Wonderfalls stories to tell.

Anyway, i’ve got a whole bunch of TV on DVD to watch in the meantime. I’ve been buying a lot of season boxsets of shows that i never followed on TV. Picked up Millennium season 1, Firefly, The OC season 1, Nip/Tuck season 1 and… i think that’s it so far.

TV on DVD is like CRACK. I love it.

Next on the list will be Nip/Tuck season 2, The OC season 2, Lost season 1, Desperate Housewives season 1, Resuce Me season 1, Deadwood season 1, and… probably Millenium season 2 or another one of the 24’s or Alias’s or maybe season 1 of The Sopranos or Sex in the City or OZ or…

Oh to hell with it. I will buy them ALL in due time.

But no Battlestar Galactica. That show sucks*

*actually i only hate it because Angelbaby loves it so much. i still refuse to watch it though.

  1. I saw the first three episodes of Battlestar Galactica. But then something came up on the very day and time it was being show every week.

I fucking hate when that happens.

  2. Recommend The Sopranos and Nip/Tuck.
Lost and Alias are great as you would expect from JJ Abrams.

Also if you like English TV – try MI:5 (aka Spooks) – a very good UK series.

  3. BSG is way better than the OC or Millenium. You should definitely get Rescue Me though.

  4. #3 funny how fast the OC has turned into 90210
only took them one season before they had their own “peach pit” and lame bands in every week to sell crap tunes to teenagers

admit it, I’d like to bone Mischa but the OC is crap

  5. Hahahahaha – as if the OC was ever trying to be anything but 90210… and Mischa is the oldest looking 19-year-old on Earth, BTW.

Entourage needed to go another 5 or 6 episodes, for sure. I am curious to see what happens over the break – Ari getting his shit together, does Mandy stay on the movie, does Turtle become successful? I hope the third season continues the trend of improvement.

Angelbaby’s seal of approval aside, BSG is worth watching, Justin. Really. Even if your vagina still gets wet over Titantic.

  6. You need to start buying Buffy and Angel seasons, J.

    You’ll thank me later.

    ^_^

  7. I agree with AngelBaby. Buffy is freaking awesome and NOT for fagays like you say, Justin. You should have got Lost before The O.C. because The O.C. is lame. I don’t want to bone Mischa Barton; she’s too skinny, has small, pointy boobs, does not have a cute face, and she can’t act. Her acting could very well be worse than Alba.

  9. I second Arrested Development and Curb Your Enthusiasm. They’re probably the two best comedies on TV.

  10. Everyone needs to watch Arrested Development. HELP KEEP IT ALIVE!

  11. Amen, AngelBaby. Amen. Joss Whedon rocked my world with those shows.

  12. Curb your Enthusiasm was good but it raised my blood pressure too much to watch it. So stressful!

I watched Lost every single week for 13 episodes until one day I suddenly hated it. I hate that stupid bitch that kept slutting around with Jack and Sawyer

Nip/Tuck is the SHIT and you need to buy season 2 before season 3 starts at the end of the month!

  14. Definitely get Rescue Me.

And I also agree with the Buffy, Angel, and Arrested Development suggestions. All are worth it.

  19. The Sopranos is the best show on TV.

    FACT.

  20. i hear they’re going to end the lost series with a movie.

kinda like the x files movie (except the x files kept on going after the movie)

    #20 | Comment by Justin — September 8, 2005 @ 3:18 am

  21. Aquaman = Man from Atlantis

Millenium = slowwww version of x-files and all those serial crime dramas on TV right now like The Inside (which is cancelled)

Rescue Me = best show on TV until Lost comes back

Battlestar Galactica = too much cliche “robots look human to keep the budget low” blah, not enough robots, X-files level made-up on the spot mythology

(Oz + Deadwood) > any show on TV right now except Lost and Rescue Me.

House = good but not mentioned.

    #21 | Comment by DisconcertedGeorge — September 8, 2005 @ 8:57 am

  22. surprised no one’s mentioned “Over There”

    soberingly good television.

    #22 | Comment by AngelBaby — September 8, 2005 @ 9:03 am

  23. yes Over There is good. Better than it should be given the cheesy theme tune.

But not good to start the weekend with because every episode ends on a bummer note.

    #23 | Comment by DisconcertedGeorge — September 8, 2005 @ 1:44 pm

  24. I have never seen Titanic.

    Fact.

  26. Rescue Me is some fine TV.
And Lost season 1 came out this week.

Oh, I did see Titanic, but it was only to see two things- the recreated ship and more importantly Kate Winslet’s breasts.

    #26 | Comment by Dairy — September 9, 2005 @ 1:03 pm

  27. I am Titanic-free. Nope, none for me.

Battlestar had some great writing, in both seasons no less. The show is doing great, I hope they get a five-year gig out of this. At least.

    #27 | Comment by Ruprecht Jones — September 10, 2005 @ 1:04 am

  28. Battlestar Galactica > Titanic

    fact.

    #28 | Comment by AngelBaby — September 10, 2005 @ 1:17 am

  29. Queer Eye for the Straight Guy is less gay than Titanic.

    Fact.
