Huzzah!
31 07 2006Well the site is back up. For some of you. That know of this URL (dontlinkthis.net). Otherwise you’re either probably seeing a blank page come up - if you’re still trying to go to dontlinkthis.com. That’s because i sort of made it so .com pointed to the .net servers yesterday (.com and .net are hosted on different ones) while i was moving everything over (the .com site is now hosted on .net) and then decided against it (and just made it so .com would redirect to .net) and now i guess the DNS is still like, re-propogating back to the old server. Or something.
So why the move?
Well basically the site got haxored - either through a wordpress security flaw or the forum. Actually i knew about the forum’s security flaw but just couldn’t be bothered getting it fixed. And i also knew about the wordpress flaw and i did do something about it but maybe not soon enough and only until after the site got haxored. Either way, MY BAD.
So anyhow, i decided to just move the site over here to the .net server which i have more control of (it’s dedicated), after manually rejiggering and transferring the wordpress MYSQL database (which was all haxored up), rather than continue having it hosted on the old .com one (sucky shared hosting). Besides, i was always getting complaints from my hosting company about it using up too much resources anyway. I’m pretty sure this .net server will be able to handle all the load so that overloading won’t be an issue anymore. I hope.
Oh and don’t mind the new look. I’ll probably go back to the pink purple layout again. Or not? We’ll see. I sort of didn’t make a complete backup of the old layout before moving everything over so i wasn’t able to reload it.
I still havent completely moved everything over yet so there’s bound to be a whole bunch of missing images and crap here and there, but that’ll be fixed in due time.
What else.
Ah yes, no forums as of yet. But that’s no big loss. Not like it was a hotbed of activity or anything. And there’s still a few bits and pieces that i haven’t brought over from the old layout (e.g the pedo counter - although there really isn’t much of a point to have that counter without all those underage (at the time) actresses adorning the top of the site anymore) and… probably lots of other stuff that i can’t think of right now. So yeah. I’ll work on all of that soon enough.
Funny thing though, as i loaded up the site for the first time on this new server, with this new (unaltered at the time) layout template, i noticed that it actually said:

…at the bottom of the sidebar. What what whaaat??!?!

right now, i have this nifty little ‘widgets’ plugin integrated onto the site.
it sort of disables the default sidebar and leaves out the default(!) “© 2006 AngelBaby” text, but i have decided to recreate the copyright text and insert it into the new widgetized sidebar to preserve the baffling discovery.
and besides, this site might as well be angelbaby’s site now anyway ^_^
