The 80th Academy Awards were the least watched in history, and about the most boring I’ve ever seen. But there were some girls who put themselves together nicely for their walk down the red carpet. Here’s my faves…

Anne Hathaway was lovely in red Marchesa. Cameron Diaz looked pretty in pale pink Galliano. And Ellen Page actually put on a dress!

Jennifer Garner was gorgeous in black Oscar de la Renta with a stunning diamond necklace. Jessica Alba camouflaged her growing baby bump nicely in deep purple Marchesa. And Katherine Heigl was hot in her red Escada.

Kristin Chenoweth served up some yumby cleavage in black Armani. And last but certainly not least, Miley Cyrus looked darling in her sleek red Valentino.

Here’s hoping next year’s awards include some movies that people have actually seen.

  5. oh dear. maybe I woke up on the wrong side of the bed, but they all look awful to me. kristin looks like a leather bag. miley looks like some sort of rodent. and I’m too kind to mention the others.

  6. The stupid thing Anne Hathaway makeup lady does is to use too much eye makeup on her.

    Eye makeup is designed to make your eyes look bigger and more striking, but as her eyes are already Officer Jenny-sized it looks plain odd.

  9. I’m on the fence about Chenowith!

    I first saw her in RV and thought…WOW. Then I got into that show Pushing Daisies, which should really be called “Pushing Kristin’s Cleavage up!” and thought double wow!

    But her face!!! ehhhh

    She’s got the body of a 18 year old! 4’11 and perfect ass n tits! But that faceeee!!!

    I’d hate to call her a Butter face, cuzz, sometimes she looks good!

    I had never heard of her, but I’d like to see more. I thought she looked fantastic.

  14. juno was crap. the characters had no depth, the writing was corny and pretentious, the music was corny and pretentious, the acting wasn’t especially good, in spite of the real effort made to be dramatic. it tried so hard to be cool and different, but it was just another corny, juvenile piece of crap, not a clever, out of the box classic like memento or bringing out the dead.

    12 – I don’t know, but I saw that same hideous pic when I googled her name. I didn’t see a pic from the Oscars but it would definitely be worth finding. As #16 would say, she looked “very fuckable”, and nothing like the troll that comes up under google images.

  19. Um… I saw nearly all the movies that were nominated, the only exceptions being most of the foreign and/or short films.

    There Will Be Blood was far superior to No Country for Old Men.

  20. I agree with dex. There Will Be Blood was better than No Country for Old Men.

    Also, this year had a ton of cool movies, including both of those mentioned above. I think this year and last year were a couple of the best as far as cool movies being nominated.

    Maybe you’re just waiting for the year when Armageddon 2 or the like will get nominated. Don’t hold your breath.

While I can’t get There Will Be Blood out of my head, and I’m definately buying it on dvd, I can’t help but feel it would have been a better movie if it had kept the pace, feel and cinematic qualities it had up to the end of the oil explosion sequence. IE- stay in that period, keep that feel, and lets have war (and fucking blood like I was promised) between the fundamentalists and the oil men. The final sequence between Eli and Daniel would still be necessary, but the rest could have been told in a much more exciting and gratifying way.

  25. This think TWBBlood was better than NCFOMen, but NCFOM was good enough that I’m not too displeased with the results. It could have been worse.

    I already vowed once that I would never see a movie again if Catherine Zeta Jones ever won an Oscar. I didnt keep to that. If Juno won best picture, however, that would have been it.
