Well shit. I was hoping to get all my shit together by February 23rd just so that i could launch the new site on Dakota Fanning’s birthday but i guess i missed that boat.
But happy birthday anyway Dakota Fanning! 11 years old! HOLLA!
So i converted all my old GreyMatter powered posts into WordPress. Managed to pretty much change all the old links to reflect the new URL and archive page format and stuff. But even so, there might still be a few broken links here and there. Broken images and such. So if you do encounter any snafus and whatnot, shoot me an e-mail or something.
It also took me pretty much 3 whole days of trial and error to move all my old Invision Power Board powered posts onto the new server. That said, even though the forum software is up, it won’t be open for business. So to speak. At least not just yet. If you do go there, you’ll only be able to see the front page posts that i made on there from June 2004 to January 2005.
Oh and i deleted all the old forum posts. So the forum is pretty much empty right now. Besides, i don’t exactly have my 15000+ visitors a day anymore. So it’d be pretty pointless to have a forum where only like, 5 people are posting. I did keep all the forum accounts though. So everybody can still leave comments on the front page posts that’re on there.
So i encourage those of you who’re here to at least contribute to the site by adding your comments for whatever entries i make. At least for now. Just to make it seem like less of a ghost town around here.
Now that being said, you might notice that things don’t exactly look any different around here. Still looks like the same old fubar you might say. And obviously it does. But only because i’m notoriously lazy when it comes to designing new layouts and shit.
In the past 5 years, i’ve only ever changed layouts 3 times. And i’ve been using this one for about 2 years now. Now, of course, i realize that over at my old domain, this very same layout still exists. Which will undoubtedly cause some confusion for people who don’t know better. But whatever. I can’t be bothered changing anything just yet (maybe in 2 years time). So i’m sticking with this for now.
So is this still fubar then? Well, i have been using that name for 5 years… and i’m pretty much still free to use it if i want. Plus, even if i did try to shake off that name and use a new one, people will probably still associate me as that ‘fubar guy’ or whatever.
But i guess the real reason for all the ‘change’ is because i just want to start over again.
Which seems pretty dumb considering i’m STILL using the same old layout, STILL having all my old posts and STILL having the fubar name but i’m finding it a little hard to leave that ‘legacy’ behind. Besides, why put 5 years worth of content and site recognition to waste?
Anyhow, one thing’s for sure. Expect a lot more bloggier posts like in years past. I’ll still put up hi res pics every now and then and try to get big ‘scoops’ and whatnot but i’ll also be putting up more dumber stuff like i used to back in the day. Stuff that i couldn’t get away with with the ‘new’ crowd that i’d gathered over at the old domain.
We’ll see how it goes. So yeah, don’t call it a comeback because i never really left. HOLLA!

oh and btw, when i say new start, i really mean new start. none of that i’ve-been-here-forever-so-i-get-to-step-on-you elitist newb bashing bullshit anymore unless it’s really warranted. if you’re going to take on the role of long time regular, at the very least do it in a respectable and responsible manner. and try to cut down on the unabashed gay festing in the comments. take it to some other gay forum if you really want to do that all the time.

I could pretend to have found this on my own… but that would be a lie… I often require assistance doing the most menial of tasks…
Hey Justin — Welcome back? (not like you ever really left… you just ‘floated’… now you’ve landed… apparently several days ago…)
